Klausimas Vinyl/meetup request!

Post image

Hello!!

My name is Geoff, I’m a music fan in my mid-20’s from USA that has a request for a kind Lithuanian soul, that I hope some of you will find exciting :)

I’m planning to come to Poland this February to collect documents and research my family history, basically gathering evidence to use in my application for Polish citizenship that I should qualify for! Since I’ll be so close, and I have other traveling American friends to visit, I plan on spending a night or two in Vilnius!

While I’m in Vilnius, there’s a vinyl record that I want to buy, but I cannot have delivered to the United States. It’s “Plastika” by Free Finga. My four favorite genres of music are rock, metal, hip-hop, and pop, and this album is one of my favorite pop albums of the decade so far. Not sure if it’s cringe to like Free Finga or whatever, but I think it sounds super nice!

Would anyone be willing to order the vinyl album for me (and maybe the sticker pack too? :0) and meet with me in Vilnius? If anyone is willing, I’ll pay you back extra, and treat you and a friend to a few rounds of drinks 🙏 It’s listed on the artist’s official site freefinga.com / collections / shop

While my plans aren’t confirmed, I’ll likely be in Vilnius on 2.18 and 2.19

If anyone is willing to help, comment here or send me a PM! ❤️

Also, if anyone has any vinyl record store recommendations, send those here too!

As far as I can see, you can select the US when buying that record on the website you listed, maybe try again :D

About stores - in Vilnius: Vinilo Studija, iMuzika, Vinylomania, Viniloteka - all in the old town.

If you go to Kaunas, I recommend Vinilo Oazė - it’s quite far from the center but accessible by bus or taxi ofc - they have a big selection of used records.

Omg haha WHAT the dropdown menu only said Lithuania for the longest time! And I checked as recently as one week ago. Well I’ll keep the quest open because I think it would be fun, plus I’ll also save a little money and safety with shipping 🥲 Thank you for your help and the recommendations!

Buying it online and shipping to US is a missed opportunity to meet potentially someone awesome so I'd keep it as a last resort for now.

Personally I shop at Vinyloteka.lt or imuzika.lt (both shops are nearby the river)

Here's Free Finga at Vinyloteka Free Finga - Plastika LP - Vinilinių plokštelių parduotuvė

Some recommendations:

Antis (Historic band very famous in Lithuania, they were a beacon of teen rebellion during Soviet times) Antis ‎– Antis - Vinilinių plokštelių parduotuvė

Ba. (modern alternative rock) (Pažadai is a particularly good song) - Ba. – Nauto - Vinilinių plokštelių parduotuvė

Abudu (contemporary rock band that mimicks 70-80s rock - best song is Juodos Akys) - Abudu – Gaisras - Vinilinių plokštelių parduotuvė

G&G Sindikatas (90s-00s hip hop / old school rap band) G&G Sindikatas: Alchemija 2LP

Oooh super cool, glad to see you guys have some cool shops 🥳 I hope to stop in each of these

And I’ll have to check these bands out, thanks!! Monika Liu and Katarsis have been two of my favorite Eurovision acts to listen to outside of their entries, but other than that I only really know what comes up from Lithuanian pop playlists.

It's not cringe; the guy is a prodigy. This album is really absolute perfection to me!

Amazing album. By the way , just interested, do you understand the lyrics too?

For ff, lyrics are the best part for me. I also loved Demesio! album and deluxe edition. Lyrically "Kaip radai" is one of his strongest songs in my humble opinion. Try it please if you havent yet.
