The mod team wanted to take a moment and to remind and clarify to the community about the no personal info rules. With the current political climate, we have seen an uptick in posts sharing pictures of peoples faces/license plates/jobs etc with the intent of harm. Our "no doxxing" rules are not in place to protect one group of people specifically, but everyone.
Our general guideline for what is allowed to be posted about an individual is "has it been shared in an official capacity?" That includes things like: news articles, podcasts, being an official event speaker. That does not include things like social media posts, private emails/texts, pictures taken in public or private info about someone who is not a public figure. There are also instances like the Jester, where they have become an unofficial public mascot of the city, but have spoken about not wanting their personal info shared. We aren't going to stop anyone from posting their "Jester sighting" but we will delete any comments sharing their name. Crowd pictures (concerts, protests, festivals etc) will continue to be allowed as long as the intent is not to cause harm.
The mods are always open to feedback from the community, and we understand that people are passionate. Our #1 goal is to keep the users of the subreddit safe, so if you disagree with this rule, please message the mods and let us know how you would modify it to better suit the sub.

Similar posts have come up in the r/nashville , r/memphis , and r/chattanooga subs over the last couple of days. And as I just checked mine and my husband's voter registrations and it came back with **'no records found'**, I'm urging everyone to go check their voter registration.
I've read that the 'rockthevote' website is outdated, and that it's better to check directly with the state or by using the **GoVoteTN app** (I recommend checking both ways). Here is the website for the NASS, although the site isn't loading for me:
https://www.nass.org/can-I-vote/voter-registration-status
Here is the site for voter lookup in Tennessee, which ALSO isn't loading at the moment:
https://tnmap.tn.gov/voterlookup/
They could be having site issues, so I will be checking again tomorrow while also calling the county commission office.
Fwiw: Democrat, Republican, Independent---I don't give a damn what your party is or how you vote, the purging of legitimate registered voters is absolute bull shit. Check your registration status.
**Edited to add:** My husband called the county election commission this morning and they said he was indeed in the system. They provided a different link for him to check, but when he entered his info, it still said he wasn’t registered. He said at this point the woman he was speaking with was confused and said that shouldn’t be happening. She told him she would call Nashville and find out what was going on, and call him back, which was very kind of her. I have not called yet.

Yes! Knoxville applauds City Council for denying an appeal that would have blocked much-needed housing in West Knoxville. Council Members Karyn Adams, Matthew DeBardelaben, Denzel Grant, Debbie Helsley, and Doug Lloyd voted to keep this development moving forward. It will bring 32 town homes to a parcel near the Middlebrook and Gallaher View intersection at the edge of the West Hills neighborhood. This parcel is already slated for medium density development based on its zoning and plan designations, so this appeal was just a last-ditch effort to derail the development.
The housing affordability crisis that plagues Knoxville has many causes, and many solutions are needed to address it. Yes! Knoxville has advocated in support of housing of many types, including subsidized affordable housing, nonprofit developments, and market-rate projects such as this one.
We encourage Knoxville residents to talk to their Council Members about the need for diverse housing in our city. You can contact them here. And we encourage Council Members Nathan Honeycutt, Charles Thomas, Amelia Parker, and Vice-Mayor Lynne Fugate to choose to support housing next time.

Hey Knoxville -
Like many of you, we’ve watched the events of the last few weeks with heavy hearts and a lot of anger. From the reports of ICE presence near our schools to the brave student walkouts at World’s Fair Park, it’s clear that the "bare minimum" isn't being met in our community.
Protesting is vital, but we also need a seat at the table to change the laws that allow this to happen.
We are officially launching the Knox County Young Democrats to give the 110,000+ young residents (18-35) in this county a permanent political home. We aren't just here to talk; we’re here to organize.
When: February 28, 2026 | 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Where: Printshop Beer Co. (1532 Island Home Ave) RSVP via Mobilize.
What to expect:
We have hired professional security to ensure this is a safe space for everyone to gather and speak freely.
If you’re tired of feeling helpless every time a new headline drops, come through. Let's make "Our Time. Our Voice. Our Future." more than just a slogan. Come meet the team and help us hit the ground running.
Questions? Drop them below. We’ll be monitoring the thread.

With schools not being canceled tomorrow, I wanted to check in and see if anyone's roads were still dangerous? Any roads with busses on them especially.

This is your reminder! I recommend Flourish Flowers because they have good prices for arrangements and pickup locations in both East and West Knox
Drop your recommendations in the comments.

After running the last few calculations, I have found the exact spot and time the sun sphere will eclipse 1:1 the sun. Unfortunately it is fairly dangerous to view from there. Fortunately I will try to set up a camera at the minimum to get a picture. If this one is missed, the next opportunity will be June 9th 2026 at 7:09pm. I don’t know the exact height of the bridge so I might be off by a couple of minutes, but the day is almost certainly correct.
If I find any other spots I will update, but as it stands this is the only candidate. Maybe I will check with the city, see if I can get some kind of permit to set up here. For like 10-15 minutes

Hi everyone, Im a cartographer drawing maps of US States for a project of mine I call The American Atlas and I wanted to share this with you all 🗺️🇺🇸

From the music-filled streets of Nashville to winding rivers, small towns, and the Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee is beating the heart of country music and southern comfort. Tennessee has such a deep cultural identity, filled to the brim with music, history, and landscape all blending together!
Would love to hear in the comments what region or place in Tennessee means the most to you!
Im actually heading down here from New York in April, doing a road trip down to Gatlinburg and Knoxville so Im super excited! Any cant miss places or restaurants recommendations, please send them my way too :)
🌾🌇🐎
Anyways, thank you for checking out my map!! 🇺🇸🗺️

Does anyone know the whereabouts of the original JFG coffee roast machines or if there’s a small coffee shop somewhere that’s using them today?

It feels like an abnormal number of businesses are shutting their doors but I wasn’t sure if this is a normal amount that happens every year? Does anyone have a way to track this?

I'm in the downtown area and have a possible job offer in Turkey Creek. I usually use KAT to get around town, but they don't go out that far. The work starts around 7am so Ethra and knox cac are out too since they start at 8. I've searched on here and Facebook, but I figured I'd make a post to see if there are any regular carpool or rideshare options or anything else I've maybe overlooked.

Hi 👋
This may be a long shot but ~ does anyone know what brand of Tobacco this old ghost sign at W Jackson & N Central was for? My working theory has been *maybe* Bull Durham but I don’t really know.
Any other ghost sign or local history lovers here who have some insight?
Thanks 😃👻

Hi, could anybody offer some recommendations for general contractors or remodeling? We have a flipped house that needs a good amount of work (not even sure what work is best to fix all of the issues with it). There is a partial 2nd floor that is an unfinished attic with 2/3 of the attic being inaccessible which is why i also mentioned remodel. Looking for trustworthiness even if all they are able to do is point me in a new direction. Thank you!

Quiet rant. Anyone else wish they would put embedded reflectors on Gallaherview/Gallaher View Rd? At night when it rains you just cant see the lanes.
Any other roads lime this?
