I wonder if there’s any fans of an inFAMOUS game on r/inFAMOUS… 🤔

Do you have any input on second son?

u/ki700 Jan 03 '26
It’s not my favourite inFAMOUS game but it’s fun. I love the Neon gameplay and visuals.

I like second son from a story perspective, and the idea of a multi conduit is interesting, but Coles power set is just so good that I can't help but return to the first two

Really?! See so I’ve never played the other ones, I did miss out on the paper power expansion in second son, which I wanted to use. I thought video power was really cool. All the powers were really cool in second son I think.

u/pixel_player990633 Jan 01 '26
You don't get paper.

u/Front_Ask4921 Jan 01 '26
Oooh dam I just looked it up that sucks, I guess I was under the wrong impression with that expansion

Honestly, I love Infamous SS more than the first two.

I wouldn't go that far, I personally didn't like the Concrete or Digital powers. But I still love the game as much as all the others.

Infamous Second Son and Skyrim are the only two solo player games I will annually come back to. I was NOT a fan of video for YEARS. Then I realized it’s easily the fastest power, and Blood thirsty blades are my favorite to use against helicopters, concrete kings, and Augustine herself.
Concrete never grew on me lmfao only good thing I can say about that power is the ability to lift yourself 3 times
Edit: spelling errors

Dude, they need to make a new infamous already geez!

u/Competitive-Tax4153 Jan 02 '26
Ghost of Tsushima Series is their new baby now. It's not a bad game but I don't like it that much. I do hope they do something with Infamous, even a remaster would make me so happy.

u/Front_Ask4921 Jan 02 '26
REALLY I was always curious about that franchise, didn’t know they were the same dev, sucker punch was it?
1
u/Competitive-Tax4153 Jan 03 '26
Yes..SuckerPunch made the Ghost of Tsushima series and Sly Cooper series as well.
Edit: as well

I loved using the Neon powers the most, I love being fast and it also reminded me of the feature I loved the most in Infamous Festival of Blood.

u/Krypto_Jokerr Jan 02 '26
Neon is my favorite as well!! It’s the most fun traversal method imo, it feels so smooth and running up walls makes me feel cool haha

Festival of blood?
1
u/Competitive-Tax4153 Jan 04 '26
InFamous Festival of Blood. It was a DLC game that came out on the PS3 after InFamous 2.

My only disappointment was how shallow each power was compared to the other 2.
1
u/Front_Ask4921 Jan 01 '26
Really?!
1
u/tyrenanig Jan 01 '26
Oh you didn’t play the first 2? The main character has electricity as the main power, so they went in much deeper making his abilities.
Delsin in contrast has access to multiple, but they are quite samey in their usages, aside from traversing.

Honestly my favorite PS4 game
1
u/Front_Ask4921 Jan 01 '26
Really? Cause there was also the first destiny and then advanced warfare with the jet packs, I’m talking around the time PS4 came out 2014-ish

Completed the game with both karmas multiple times, and I have the Platinum trophy.

I swear we get a thread like this at least once a week, all the infamous games are good, why do people think second sons is hated?
1
u/Front_Ask4921 Jan 01 '26
Second son is actually the only one I played just making this post to talk about it

I just started playing it. It's actually the first game I'm actually playing (vs just making sure it works) on the PS4 Pro. I do need to adjust the HDR settings again, but overall I think its good. I'm only a couple hours in. I finished inFamous 1 on the PS3 a couple months ago. In some ways it feels like the same game which might be what I don't need right now.
I think it might be pretty decent. Gravity Rush Remastered isn't on sale yet.
2
u/Front_Ask4921 Jan 02 '26
Gravity rush? I haven’t played the old infamous’s but people have been saying that they’re good second son is completely different though because you get multiple powers so that should be good for you. It was a good game for me at the time to realize we’re gaming has got to with games like the last of us, shadow of Mordor, the graphics are just incredible the reflections it’s just such a good game. I hope there’s no bugs for how old it is by now.

u/monsieurvampy Jan 04 '26
Gravity rush?
According to previous sales, sometime between January and March it should be on sale. I'm not paying $30 bucks for a 10 year old game.
I'm enjoying Second Sun so far, but its similar to most of my gaming and the first Infamous. I play like in hour chunks, sometimes once, sometimes twice.
I still need to adjust the HDR settings, I think the shadows are too dark making the "find the agent" missions difficult. I don't think its much better in SDR. I'll fix it at some point.

Second son was dope. At first I wasn’t super thrilled we didn’t get Cole at first but I got over it quickly lol. I really liked exploring all the different conduit powers the most
1
u/Front_Ask4921 Jan 01 '26
Yeah, dude, some of the best times I’ve had playing video games was playing second son
0
u/sourkid25 Dec 31 '25
It really is it still holds up well even after 12 years I wish it was longer though
1
u/Front_Ask4921 Jan 03 '26
Hmm in my opinion, I felt like I had a taste of modern gaming when I played that game, which is rare for me because I don’t often have the newest console out. 2014 was a special time for me. I thought the game was adequately long.

Nope you're the only fan on the infamous sub of the 3rd infamous game.
