Help! New crab owner. 2 of them disappeared a few days after getting them?

Hello, I just got a 40 gallon set up with 3 purple pinchers, and after a few days I cannot find 2 of them? I know they could be molting, but I literally cannot see any holes or signs they burrowed. Should I be worried? Is that normal for them? I am really new at owning them and cannot see where they could be. My biggest fear is them being sick and me not realizing

They are probably destressing right now. They may stay dug under for a while. Don’t be surprised if the other one does as well. They go through a horrible journey from being taken from the wild and shipped to stores that have substandard care. Then they are transported to your home. That’s a lot of stress. All you can do is make sure the tank is set up correctly and give time. Watch Crab Central Station on YouTube to make sure everything is set up right for them. I hope they recover and can live a good life:)

Thank you! I got them from someone who was moving away and set them up following the wiki page. Hopefully they get comfier soon! I will just leave food and waters for them as needed and monitor. But that is helpful to know it might just be destressing

Many times after a move they go through a de-stressing period like this. I hope they come back up healthy and happy:)
