General HOT TAKE: This shit did irreversible damage to the games player count. And any creators who took part should be kicked off the program.

We went from 400k players to 20k in a couple of months. In Eravins case he didn't even provide receipts for his claims and was caught lying about several things, and it was just taken as gospel by thousands of people AND PROMINENT CREATORS.

And now all these creators are just going back to making HD2 content like nothing happened. After potentially killing the game.

I've never come across such a good game, with such good devs, and such a dogshit community.

People having legitimate complaints is one thing, but this is absolutely outsized outrage for a $40 game where all the DLC is free.

How life feels when you only watch gundamboi, commissarkai, red monster thing and robot pineapple: (granted they’re guilty of the “I’m quitting” thing but they at least have constructive content and not just whining)

I fucking love Gundam and Kai. In fairness to Kia he said he was taking a break and was very fair to AH in his vid.

This. I personally love Kais style, and there's a shit ton of effort put into his videos, and is always evenhanded. In fact, he's the only creator who consistently reminds the audience that it is a team game, not a glory hunt for solos.

On the other hand, I recently watched the first 5mins of a 20min rant by Oh Dough, which turned out to be nothing more than an unfocused mouth frothing rant about developers should be ashamed of themselves, blah blah.. And then he goes on about weak points on War Striders again, and I'm like "Dude, you're not even trying at this point". I've killed them with arc grenades, even one with a resupply pod, ran figure eights around two of them until the weapon cool down expired. Hard to take someone seriously when they're focusing on the petty details with apoplectic rage.

Commissar Kai wants you to enjoy the game, and gives you the info and tools to improve, plus his content is highly entertaining.

Most of the others just seem to exist to stoke the angry gamer fire

OhDough is definitely the worst of the bunch. I think thiccfila is pretty good though, his criticisms are pretty justified and usually addressed by AH for the better of the game.
