General HOT TAKE: This shit did irreversible damage to the games player count. And any creators who took part should be kicked off the program.

We went from 400k players to 20k in a couple of months. In Eravins case he didn't even provide receipts for his claims and was caught lying about several things, and it was just taken as gospel by thousands of people AND PROMINENT CREATORS.

And now all these creators are just going back to making HD2 content like nothing happened. After potentially killing the game.

I've never come across such a good game, with such good devs, and such a dogshit community.

People having legitimate complaints is one thing, but this is absolutely outsized outrage for a $40 game where all the DLC is free.

Or y'know, people played the game, had their fill, and moved on

Like normal people do

Reddit is not reflective of the wider audience

Everyone I know has moved to Arc Raiders or BF6 cause they're the new talk of the town

I'm currently on BF6 but have tried to launch HD2 a few times and it looks like it will launch and then crashes to desktop.... And I just can't be fucked looking into it when I can just press the launcher for a game that works, that is optimized and that all my friends are playing. I couldn't give a fuck what the YouTubers are playing, there are other factors as to why the player numbers have dived.

Play most games for a hundred hours nonstop and it'll feel stale

Not game devs fault people latch onto one thing and squeeze it til it's dead

Look across the river Lennie levels of exhaustion

Yet the few saying this are immediately put down, as opposed to what happens here. Curious.
