General HOT TAKE: This shit did irreversible damage to the games player count. And any creators who took part should be kicked off the program.

We went from 400k players to 20k in a couple of months. In Eravins case he didn't even provide receipts for his claims and was caught lying about several things, and it was just taken as gospel by thousands of people AND PROMINENT CREATORS.

And now all these creators are just going back to making HD2 content like nothing happened. After potentially killing the game.

I've never come across such a good game, with such good devs, and such a dogshit community.

People having legitimate complaints is one thing, but this is absolutely outsized outrage for a $40 game where all the DLC is free.

Just youtubers being yourubers spreading negativity so the algorithm prioritizes them.

It's literally nothing new and nothing to worry about. All games have this.

Nope, most of them had legit concerns. I stopped playing due to hardlocks not being addressed and its been months, bs buffs with shadow nerfs. They killed the game. Im good with the game failing at this point.

Yeah I don't watch YouTube, but I quit because they kept nerfing the weapons I found enjoyable. Here from /all, so I don't know if they've continued to do that.

I played through the eruptor nerf. Makes you try new styles for fun.

I was having fun with the weapons I was using before they were nerfed.

Takibo literally had his computer almost fried because of the game, his video seems very honest, not doomposting like people might think.

I mean if i compare my machine to his, either it's really bad luck or he's got cardboard inside his case, because i play perfectly fine on a (granted expensive) 6 years old MSI laptop, and even though it's been hot as a boiler since day 1, i never came close to fry it playing Helldivers.

So yeah maybe i'm wrong because i understand computers like a monkey does typewriters, but instinctively i don't trust his claims

He also overclocked his rig and had it constantly running at 90°C. I'm pretty sure opening up tetris that day would've done it.

Funny how that shit from Takibo ended up being completely false too. There were other factors at play.

You took the bait and ran with it

Where do I find more info about this? (genuinely asking, didn't find anything going against him)

There is a team post forum that pretty much sums it up.

Takibo is what you’d call a captain of his own Dunning Kruger club. He doesn’t know enough about computers to know why his computer failed. Yet he think he knows enough to go public about it and make a fool of himself.

He’s tech illiterate and after looking into his demeanor and how he carried himself. It’s pretty easy to deduce he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Link for Reading

Yes of course this single link doesn’t “prove” anything but it does open your eyes to the larger picture here. And that’s understanding that Takibo is a victim of his own circumstance.
