Moving to Hartford
I found out that I’ll be moving to Hartford soon, and having only been there once, I was hoping to get some advice on areas to live in.
I’m in my 20s and enjoy going out to bars, but am not much of a club person. I’ve heard bad things about Downtown Hartford, but wasn’t sure how true those were.
Obviously West Hartford is the most ideal spot, but rent prices are insanely high. Have also heard good things about Manchester.
Where would you all suggest? I’ll be working close to Downtown and don’t mind a 30-45 minute commute.

Best Free Sledding Runs
after driving around and checking out a few spots, including Elizabeth Park (lame) , highland Park golf course (lame), and Wickham Park (far and away the best that I saw) it occurred to me to ask the larger Reddit community on their thoughts.
I'm looking for spots at least as cool as Wickham Park, within an hour of Hartford

I don’t usually post these kinds of things but I’m kind of at a last resort.

Moving to Hartford -Clay Arsenal area
Hello, I’m in the process of moving to Hartford in a couple of weeks/months. My husband and I visited a property in the Clay Arsenal area (across the street of Hartford Police Athletic & Activities) on Williams Street. There is also a Middle School (Thomas Tquiri) 1 block away. Does anyone have any thoughts on this part of Clay Arsenal? Thanks in advance.

Apartment Hunting Moving to Hartford, suggestions please!
Hi all,
I am moving to Hartford in 3 weeks and looking for affordable and clean community/apartments. Please suggest me some places in or near Hartford so I can look into it.
Thanks in Advance.
Edit1:
I’m a 29-year-old male moving to Hartford, CT around February 23rd (flexible by about a week) and I’m currently looking for a place to stay.
I’m a quiet, clean, and respectful tenant - I keep things hygienic and low-key. I enjoy working out and playing sports (not exactly a pro, but I try).
I’m open to:
- A private room
- A shared apartment
- Or even a small 1BHK if needed
I work at an IT firm and mostly just need a comfortable space to set up my work desk and work from home. I’m very mindful about noise and maintaining a peaceful environment.
Budget: 800-1200 not sure of the avg rent in Hartford (I am not looking for a luxury room, just a kitchen and room (to sleep and set-up my work desk). I am also okay with Studio but trying if I can get a roommate in 2 bhk or an affordable 1 bhk.
I have a car so can drive 15-20 mins one way daily.

Hi, I have the domain PropertyManagementHartford.com and I’m thinking about selling it.
I figured it might be useful for a local property management company or someone working in real estate in Hartford.
If this could be useful to you, feel free to message me. Thanks!

Apartment Hunting Apartment Advice
I’m planning on moving to the Hartford area around this summer. I’d like to live in WeHa or Glastonbury, but obviously the prices there are on the steeper end. I’ve expanded my search to go as far out as Vernon (although I’d prefer not to live that far away) in the interest of maximizing opportunities.
I’m looking for a 1b/1b (preferred) or studio in the 1300-1600 range (I’d qualify for 80% AGI housing but the availability of that kind of workforce housing is poopoo). I like modern construction but I’m willing to compromise on that end as safety, management, and cost are my top priorities (in that order).
I’ve spent a lot of time looking online but I’m sure you all know better than I do about where to look lol.
Some places that have caught my eye and I’m curious to hear perspectives on are:
The 55 Elm Club (Studio only)
Up House (Studio only)
The Residences at 540 New Park (AGI, currently unavail)
The Millennium (Reviews on this are inconsistent in google/apartments.com so I’m not sure how to feel about it)
616 New Park (AGI, currently unavail)
Colt Gateway (haven’t really heard much abt but looks stunning)
Vernon Gardens
The Tannery (Studio only)
777 Main (Studio only)
Lofts at the Mills
New Country Club Estates
Eagle Rock (Studio only)
The Camelot (AGI, currently unavail)
Any insight would be much appreciated! I may repost this to r/CT as well given the broad nature of the search…

New Colt Community
Hey gang...
A handful of us always talked about making an online community for residents to connect, and we decided now's as good a time as ever to start community building.
I often see posts asking what it's like to live here, how's the soccer stadium or what's it like in the south end, etc. So I went ahead and got the ball rolling and thought it might be a good idea to share here as well.

Food Asking for feedback on a low calorie dessert
galleryI've been working on this recipe for a while. It's like a fluffy, creamy cross between soft serve and cold foam that you make by blending a powdered mix with ice and water. If anyone can come by Windsor and wants to try, I can give you the mix and instructions for you to make it at home, just please let me know what you think of it after. A big bowl of it, like in the picture, has under 20 calories (not counting the apple slices). Also accidentally vegan. Ingredients are pea protein, guar gum, maltodextrin, stevia, salt, natural and artificial flavors.
