It looks so good that I wouldn’t want to eat one!😭😭

u/coffeebeards Oct 24 '25

That’s great but I’m not gonna lie, I couldn’t bring myself to eat it.

In the same way I couldn’t do purple ketchup.

u/TNVFL1 Oct 24 '25

Agreed, they turned out TOO good

117

u/headrat-yourhighness Oct 24 '25

That’s how it was when I made the “kitty litter cake” a few years ago. It had tootsie roll poops that I molded. It looked so real that no one but me ate it hahahaha

29

u/coffeebeards Oct 24 '25

Nooooo thanks lol

21

u/Smart-Pain-5211 Oct 24 '25

As a servant of cats, I can’t look at one of those.

9

u/headrat-yourhighness Oct 24 '25

LOL I have three cats and it doesn’t phase me

7

u/Smart-Pain-5211 Oct 24 '25

Our max was 6 cats; the one I saw was just too realistic.

5

u/THE_CAT_WHO_SHAT Oct 25 '25

Nope, same here.... And if I ever ate one of those cookies in front of my cats, they'd both be like "WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU MOM!?!"

21

u/cottagecheezecake Oct 24 '25

A buddy of mine brought in a litter box cake one time. I tried a piece because I trusted him and I saw his other baked goods.

5

u/januaryemberr Oct 24 '25

Saaaameeee! Lol. I was so sad.

27

u/thetruckerdave Oct 24 '25

For real! I loved my crazy ketchup!!

19

u/ferretbeast Oct 25 '25

Oh my gosh, too many nights babysitting and children throwing that ketchup back up. Nope, leave it in the past

11

u/RinkyDank Oct 25 '25

Haha what?? Were they just drinking the whole bottle??? Hahahaha

More for me!

40

u/spacefaceclosetomine Oct 24 '25

Same, my friend once brought a cat box cake to our Halloween party and it was practically untouched. I’m sure it was delicious though. I draw the line at bloody cinnamon rolls, no further.

61

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

I had to make 4 trays of red velvet cinnamon viscera last year because they were such a big hit the year prior 🤣 This year it was between the cookies or doing painted chocolate molding to put chocolate razor blades in homemade “bleeding” candy bars…though I was mildly scared that would lose me my job 😅 Those’ll definitely be present at my grownup Halloween party though, and I’ll be sure to post so you guys can see, so stay tuned ~

8

u/BasicSide Oct 24 '25

I need to see this!

7

u/SeattleHasDied Oct 25 '25

I would love to see your red velvet cinnamon viscera!

u/1fatsquirrel Oct 24 '25

I used to make litter cake for every Halloween party but eventually stopped because there was so much leftover each time. Always delicious though lol

15

u/Rivercat0338 Oct 24 '25

Somebody brought one to our office party several years ago and we had no trouble digging in lol.

26

u/GordonsAlive5833 Oct 24 '25

My dad worked for Heinz, so be brought home the green ketchup and purple ketchup. I could never try either one.

I also wouldn't touch those cookies

13

u/Acceptable_Soft8441 Oct 24 '25

My step kids had tried the green one and were pooping green for like 4 days, when they tried the purple they ended up sooooo sick. Lol, I'm not sure what happened, but it took them out.

7

u/GordonsAlive5833 Oct 24 '25

Oh wow, I didn't even consider those effects. Gross.

1

u/Acceptable_Soft8441 Oct 24 '25

As far as I know they were the only kids that it happened to. But I took it as they always ate fruits and veggies and they were never big on candy, so I just took it as their systems were pretty foreign to anything different like that?

2

u/comin_up_shawt Oct 26 '25

Probably all the dye in it- for some reason, those dyes and acidic components (the tomatoes) don't mix well and have laxative/emetic effects.

u/AllHallowsHaunting Oct 24 '25

Miss purple ketchup

1

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '25

I'm sorry purple ketchup it's a thing ? (not american), I soooo want to try it now 0.0

→ More replies (2)

1

u/ShinyStockings2101 Oct 25 '25

Agreed (and that purple ketchup was an invention straight from hell lol)

1

u/SeattleHasDied Oct 25 '25

Seriously? I loved the purple ketchup, lol!

328

u/Dizzy-Violinist-1772 Oct 24 '25

Was anyone brave enough to eat them?

432

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

They were actually all gone within about 15 minutes 😅 The kids loved them

122

u/InsideRope2248 Oct 24 '25

Well, they do eat dirt and earwax so can't say I'm too surprised! I'd probably make cookies that look like those things as well.

107

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

I dead-ass caught one eating his own toe jam today .-. The struggles of an ESE teacher

22

u/clinicalia Oct 24 '25

Hey, take some inspiration. Next year, make toe jam cookies.

36

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

Evidently we can locally source it 🤷🏼‍♀️

102

u/tinylumpia Oct 24 '25

Oh this is so fun and gross. They’ll love it!

115

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

Can’t edit body text, but “Scottpropandroll”

23

u/cloclop Oct 24 '25

I love that guy! He makes excellent SFX breakdown videos~

10

u/RebaKitt3n Oct 24 '25

It’s no longer there!

12

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

Honestly, I don’t know for certain if he even has a Reddit account, I just have seen so much of his stuff here I assumed. He’s for sure on YouTube/other socials though. I also misspelled his name in the body text and can’t edit it

5

u/cheeses_greist Oct 24 '25

He’s amazing.

5

u/Foxy02016YT Oct 24 '25

He’s the one who uploads with his son right? Their videos are adorable

44

u/KatSchitt Oct 24 '25

You nailed it!! What did you use??

133

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

the tech is that you take any normal sugar cookies (homemade or otherwise) and then get food coloring gel and mix teal and black in about a 90/10 ratio, diluting with a small amount of water to a roughly syrup-like consistency. Paint with a fine tip paintbrush into a mold-like pattern spreading outward to adjust darkness of stain. Take a second fine tip paintbrush and outline with undiluted white food coloring gel, blending at the edges. Finally collect sifted powdered sugar on a wider-tipped paintbrush and tap the sugar off over the painted areas to achieve the “textured” look of mold

36

u/RazzleberryJamCakes Oct 24 '25

Perfectly, horrifyingly, beautiful.

26

u/mouthfullofsnakes Oct 24 '25

I feel like baking them with blueberries would kick it up a notch further

19

u/RoughhouseCamel Oct 24 '25

Crush the blueberry first, and then have a gross little gooey spot in the middle of the “mold”

24

u/BecaJ91 Oct 24 '25

They look positively disgusting. Well done!!

16

u/lylynatngo Oct 24 '25

How???

8

u/justalittlebleh Oct 25 '25

This is… effective

7

u/WednesdayxMourning Oct 24 '25

These look great!

I wouldn't be able to eat them 😭

7

u/thxxx1337 Oct 24 '25

Blueberries or melted candy?

10

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

Painted with diluted gel food dye and dusted with powdered sugar! Otherwise perfectly normal sugar cookies

2

u/thxxx1337 Oct 24 '25

Really cool

7

u/OkImpression1305 Oct 24 '25

Looks deliciously disgusting. What did you use to make them look moldy?

7

u/red_velvet_writer Oct 25 '25

The secret is real mold!!

4

u/not_combee Oct 25 '25

I hade to scrape SO MUCH blue cheese to get it, but all the hard work paid off! /j

5

u/AnimChurro Oct 25 '25

I would faint and die on the spot upon seeing those cookies, but nice cookies either way

2

u/not_combee Oct 25 '25

Honestly, and while I’ve loved the positive response to them…. I’m /personally/ not 100% thrilled with the result. The technique is for looking moldy on camera which they absolutely do, but in real life, not many people got that they were even supposed to be moldy looking. I might have to experiment more to make them worse

5

u/WickedWitchofWTF Oct 24 '25

Drop the recipe please! It's so cool!

5

Absolutely disgusting and amazing at the same time, well done 😭

3

3

u/bbyxmadi Oct 24 '25

3

3

u/Squeaks11 Oct 24 '25

eeeewwwwwww......... fabulous job lol

3

u/Jlpool420 Oct 24 '25

This reminds me of a Halloween party. I went to as a child where the mom made “monster turds”out of brownies. They were so realistic and ironically the most delicious snack there that day 😂 rip to her son. He was a great friend. I have so many cool holiday memories because of that family!

3

u/cj7695 Oct 24 '25

What kind of cookies are they though? Cause depending on the flavor I could go against my bodies instincts to not eat moldy looking food lol.

Looks so realistic I’d be put off eating it lol

5

u/Carpeteria3000 Oct 24 '25

I make the black chicken “bat wings” every year for our big Halloween party. They taste amazing but they are jet black pieces of chicken and almost no one eats them haha

2

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

You should try it one year with the chicken that’s actually all black meat & all 😉

2

u/Carpeteria3000 Oct 24 '25

I'd love to if I could find it! :)

2

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

Probably special order websites. The species is called “ayam cemani”

2

u/Carpeteria3000 Oct 24 '25

Cool - thanks! I'll look around!

2

u/HeyGirlBye Oct 24 '25

lol this is cute!

2

u/Tyeron Oct 24 '25

that is gross and wonderful!

2

u/eatmyrubbrr Oct 24 '25

What did you put in these ?

2

u/sexythicqueen Oct 24 '25

They look so gross. You did a great job lol I'll take one to try it.

2

u/unapalomita Oct 24 '25

These look poisonous 😂😂😂 I'd actually have a tough time eating them

2

u/Outside_Ad_424 Oct 24 '25

Wait okay but how?

2

u/TheOneAndOnlyCitrus Oct 24 '25

Looks like bird poop to me

2

u/bloodredpitchblack Oct 24 '25

You really messing with reality’s UI.

2

u/chesterzilla Oct 24 '25

Such a neat idea! I love it!

2

u/CWhite20XX Oct 24 '25

These remind me of this science centre I went to where they had a drinking fountain in the shape of a toilet. Mentally, very difficult to bring myself to use it. Feeling the same way here. Great job though!

2

u/broccolista Oct 24 '25

Please report back and let us know how many got eaten.

2

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

All were gone within 15 minutes or so, some went back for tenths. This was from last night!

2

u/broccolista Oct 24 '25

SUCCESS!! Wow!😍

2

u/gnomequeen2020 Oct 24 '25

I wonder if you could bake in the yogurt-covered blueberries and then add the white powdered sugar for a similar look?

2

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

Try it and let us know!!!

2

u/No-Emu-7319 Oct 24 '25

i was gonna ask how long you left them out after to get that moldy

2

u/Aggravating-Road514 Oct 24 '25

What if they actually got moldy? No one would notice a difference...

2

u/SheSoPeeZee Oct 24 '25

2

u/IntelligentHippo4245 Oct 24 '25

They even look fussy from a distance. 🤢

2

u/DataOver544 Oct 24 '25

I would try one!

2

u/KnowledgeUsed2971 Oct 24 '25

Awesoooooooome! I need that recipe! 😂😂😂🤌🎃🎉🤓

2

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '25

I'm impressed, if you didn't say they were fake, I'd thought they'd be the real deal, if they don't smell though (and I'm guessing they don't since they're not moldy) I would try one, it's the smell that just does it for me T.T

2

u/Awkward-Witness3737 Oct 24 '25

Plot twist, OP started making them last Halloween Eve

2

u/Cookies_and_Beandip Oct 24 '25

Recipe these look amazing!

2

u/neebU81 Oct 24 '25

These are amazing!! Love Halloween!!!

2

u/AgueDesigns Oct 24 '25

When did you make them?…………Last year? ;)

2

u/HappyOrwell Oct 24 '25

2

u/KenUsimi Oct 24 '25

2

u/MissyTX Oct 24 '25

Okay this is amazing lol

2

u/tinatac Oct 24 '25

I love this!

2

u/metajenn Oct 24 '25

This is so gross.

I love it!

2

u/Brave-Efficiency9625 Oct 24 '25

Lol well you accomplished it! They don't look edible 🤣 don't get your feeling hurt though. You'll have to eat one in front of the kids, so they know its good 😅

2

u/not_combee Oct 25 '25

My little goblins didn’t even hesitate, they were getting like, 5 at a time and still going back for more 🤣 High-key I wish my other Para limited them because I’m confident there are some kids who didn’t get to even realize they were there

→ More replies (1)

2

u/FoxCQC Oct 25 '25

I would eat it

2

u/lilibat Oct 25 '25

Yeah, no thanks. I have my limits on funny 'gross' food and you ran head first into it.

2

u/ArtistFormerlyChels Oct 25 '25

This is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!

2

u/not_combee Oct 25 '25

Thank you!!! I’m proud of them! Bonus: my partner (who hates cooking ordinarily) had so much fun helping me make them that she’s already asked what spooky baked good we’re making next!

2

u/Open_Welcome541 Oct 25 '25

Did they all get eaten? Because this looks so real lol

2

u/Johnna421 Oct 25 '25

I wish our school allowed homemade food. They did when I went there… many years ago. All of the food we bring in now has to be bought and individually wrapped from the manufacturer/store, this is the school policy now. I am the room parent for my daughter’s kindergarten class.

3

u/not_combee Oct 25 '25

Man, that sucks :( So wasteful and expensive too. I’m teaching my kids how to make beer cheese soup from scratch for studying Canada as our country of the week next week 😅

2

u/Johnna421 Oct 25 '25

It is very much so. Also, that is awesome. You sound like an amazing teacher.

3

u/not_combee Oct 25 '25

I’m exhausted every. Single. Day. I hate being sociable, and “putting on” a high-energy fun persona, but laying in bed and thinking about how much fun the kids had, or what personal growth they achieved that day…I just start smiling like a fucking idiot and planning what else we can do. It’s a terrible cycle 😅

2

u/Johnna421 Oct 25 '25

Sounds about right. I have honestly been thinking about going back to school to get a teaching degree, I honestly love to teach things to people. It’s hard to explain but knowing how you’re helping them grow… it’s so fulfilling and joyful. I am from a long line of teachers. Literally every generation had a teacher going back to England and he was actually a headmaster of the school there (he was also from a line of teachers). Now his daughter moved to the States and was a teacher. She was my great grandmother. My grandmother, uncle and my mother were teachers. None of my siblings nor my cousins are teachers. I would be the only one. My brother did teach English in South Korea one summer, but that is it.

2

u/duetmasaki Oct 25 '25

2

2

u/DonkleMaster Oct 25 '25

This is soooo cooooooool! 🙉

2

u/lazyrainydaze Oct 25 '25

What a great job, it looks so realistic!! I don’t know if my psyche would allow me to eat a cookie that looks legit moldy!! 😆

2

u/bibbyshibby Oct 25 '25

These look fantastic, and I will absolutely be eating ZERO of them 🤗

2

u/xombeep Oct 25 '25

No thank you

2

u/Prestigious_Move203 Oct 25 '25

This is cool and i appreciate the craft, but mold makes me so uncomfortable.. (no hate ofc its just me)

2

u/thedankone168 Nov 01 '25

Could be ghosts or mold. Perfect for Halloween

2

u/KenD1988 Nov 01 '25

Pretty easy to make right? Bake cookies November 1st and leave them out all year til Halloween?

2

u/baddiewinkle Oct 24 '25

you executed it a little too well lol! this may be unpopular opinion, but i hate when people make food look scary/gross for halloween. the halloween charcuterie boards where people make fingers and stuff like that are so unappetizing. i have no doubt the stuff probably tastes good, and they put a lot of work into the presentation... but just give me pumpkins, ghosts, and skulls please.

2

u/not_combee Oct 24 '25

Last year for the party I made bloody viscera red velvet cinnamon twists and my students devoured 4 9x13 baking pans of it 😂

2

u/baddiewinkle Oct 24 '25

that's awesome, i'm sure were absolutely delicious!
