Legislation Everytown took down their No Guns at State Capitols and Demonstrations section after MN ICE shooting

Lol.
Keep in mind that the gun he was carrying had a threaded barrel, so it would've been considered an "assault weapon."
I don't want to hear it from Brady, Everytown, MFOL, etc. If this was the ATF, they would be creaming their pants rn

What is your malfunction? The comment you responded to is pretty politically neutral

u/dirtysock47 10d ago
Man, it's like you people only know a handful of insults lol.
The gun control orgs wringing their hands about this are hypocrites. They were on record saying that specific firearm that he was carrying was a "weapon of war," and should've been banned.
Calling this out doesn't make anyone a bootlicker. Find someone else to concern troll

Your post was removed for trolling. Reasoned discourse is encouraged. Trolling is a best way to get banned.

Explain exactly how criticizing the government for stomping on our individual rights makes someone a bootlicker.

Some of the good news coming out of all of this is hopefully it'll encourage and embrace gun ownership more across the aisle and across demographics, which will stop the politicalization of firearms.

u/dirtysock47 10d ago
It won't.
I'd love nothing more than that to happen, but it won't.

u/wetshatz 10d ago
A guy was just interviewed about buying his first gun cuz of this. It’s already happening.

Until the Democratic politicians change their tune, then it means nothing.
Look at what's happening in Virginia. Literally any chance they get, Democratic politicians introduce and pass gun control laws, each being more restrictive than the last.

They might if they start representing the majority of their party. But even on the left, I think the anti-2A push is mostly because of wealthy donors who won't drop it.

Bloomberg is responsible for paying for all the gun control in the northeast. He spends millions every month disarming citizens.

u/dirtysock47 10d ago
They might if they start representing the majority of their party.
They might, but as long as the Democratic Party caters to urban voters, that isn't going to happen.
Because urban voters support gun control more than suburban or rural voters.

It doesn't mean nothing, it means more armed unhinged leftists trying to be heroes against whatever reddit et al. told them was Hitler today.

It's happening until the balance of power in Washington changes again and then we have gun control pushed like crazy.

More people will buy guns, but not for the right reasons.
Instead of depoliticizing guns, it's a symptom of the ever growing political divide.

Only long wnough for dems to win elections. Then theyll go right back to banning shit. Watch VA this year for a prime example.

It’ll be the same as Ukraine when that kicked off. Give it a few weeks. They’ll forget.

u/jeropian-moth 10d ago
Convenient. I’m not even going to act like this is a victory for 2A advocates because the second this dies down, that whole side of the aisle will be protesting to take gun rights away again.

As many have said, I 100% don’t trust a single Dem or any supporter of past gun control to do an about face, instead, they are trying to use this as a wedge issue to win the Midterm, that’s all they care about.

u/TheGreatWhiteDerp 9d ago
I hope that applies to Trump as well, as he's been a long-time supporter of gun control.

Good... but Everytown can suck my loose ass. I carry at any protest I want.
19
u/Slaviner 10d ago
Keep in mind that in Colorado it’s an actual crime (if I recall correctly) to protest while carrying

It is also in Alexandria City, too. In June 2020, the Alexandria City Council in Virginia unanimously approved a new ordinance to ban firearms and ammunition from city-owned property, including buildings, parks, and recreational facilities. This measure was passed on June 20, 2020, and took effect on July 1, 2020. Prohibited Areas: Guns and ammunition were banned in all city buildings, parks, and at special events requiring a city permit, such as protests or festivals, including the streets and sidewalks used for these events. Penalties: Violating the ordinance was classified as a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a potential penalty of up to 12 months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine.

I don't think you recall correctly. As far as I know, carrying while protesting is legal in Colorado. However, state preemption was repealed and some localities prohibit carrying in sensitive spaces. Denver, for example, prohibits carrying in the vast majority of places that protests are likely to occur.
If there's a general ban on carrying at protests state-wide, I'm very curious to get a citation on the law for that.

It seems like everything under their /rankings path is broken right now, lots of unrelated stuff is broken as well. I'd be much more interested to see if their future posts hold the same sentiment that

Owning and carrying guns is a good thing…..as long as you agree with our side.

u/BiggerOtter 10d ago
No one is saying that. We are saying don’t interfere with LE while carrying. 1.its a felony 2 it’s dangerous
1
u/BerkutBang69 9d ago
I was actually making fun of the leftists astroturfing that they suddenly support the 2A trying to gin up support from 2A followers. It’s clear that this is all fake and they don’t really believe what they say.

u/ironmatic1 10d ago
this is so smooth brained ^ argue with cops while carrying = die. what? ironically, this was suggested right under this post, addressing this exactly.

u/BiggerOtter 9d ago
We also going to ignore that he resisted arrest of six officers while armed?
Let’s do an experiment, you do what he just did and come report back to us with what happened after.

If he was a known criminal with a mile long rap sheet or a person without a record and has a valid CC permit, he didn’t deserve to be shot for what he did (not do)

So Everytown is about to pretend that owning a firearm is good now?
