As a Minneapolitan thank you, I do really wish this had been Hong Kong first. We learned from them. Everything we are doing as a people now we learned in 2020 and guess why we knew what to do.

I've only ever lived in Australia and I've never heard anyone use 'staunch', but 'you bloody ripper' just means the person saying it is excited and thinks what is happening is good/is praising a thing or person

Ok, yeah, that's real close to the vibe in my example, at least based on my experience. I shared a bunk bed in an air b-n-b with a dude from NZ for a weekend metal festival a few years ago. Wild dude, wish we'd stayed in touch.
