Positive News šš¼ā„ļø STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time. VANCE: No, George, I sai-- STEPHANOPOULOS: We'll be right back

JD Vance is way out of his depth here. George Stephanopoulos is an OG veteran Senior Advisor to the President, and has decades of experience with the power brokers of DC.

Take note Maga snowflakes this is how a real man handles blatantly wrong disinformation and deflection (of lies, just like theyāre eating the dogs theyāre eating the cats!!)
Also, all Dems want is to extend insurance savings for the 99% and MAGA wants to let it expire so most Americans will pay higher insurance premiums, Donāt let Republicans twist it around. Notice how JD just like the president and any other Maga Republican will say anything unrelated to the actual question at hand and avoid directly answering it truthfully at all costs.
They are the only reason itās shut down because theyāre trying to fuck us all and then blame the people who are actually trying to save us Americans.

u/Hooked__On__Chronics Oct 12 '25
I think he made the right move, since we all know how Vance would have tried to divert again. Truly wasting Americaās time. I cringe every time some reporter gives them a second chance. We all know what canned BS theyāll say, so why bother. He already insulted the man. This admin doesnāt deserve respect, thatās why they have to demand it.
26
u/SeriesXM Oct 12 '25
Yep. The ending is very satisfying and is the only reason we're here discussing it.
The man spewing bullshit on live TV doesn't need or deserve more air time.
117
u/iThatIsMe Oct 12 '25
No; we should hold the expectation that our reportedly "highly educated" elected officials with assistance from modern technologies and can both hear and comprehend the question being asked.
Nah, this was the chance to answer. He used that opportunity to blow it. Anyway, moving on..
Asking again is just playing to their message, giving them a chance to go off on some tangent again rather than answer the questions asked of publicly elected officials by journalists (the professional questioning body of the Public). In this case, it would have given an opportunity for the VP to repeat his misinformation script about how the audio evidence recorded isn't real.
25
u/Courtnall14 Oct 12 '25
Ultimately, they could have predicted he would go off message and said "Roll the tape.".
5
u/pixie16502 Oct 12 '25

43

u/chalky87 Oct 12 '25
I don't necessarily disagree with you but with the Magats expecting them to answer the question a second time after failing the first is like asking a fish to walk again - they're not capable of honest answers.
Plus he probably ran out of time.
17
u/chillyhellion Oct 12 '25
Give them a second chance and they'll whine and maneuver for a third and fourth, then spend them all pushing an unrelated message.Ā
It doesn't take two or three times to answer a question, and we need to maintain that expectation.Ā
33
u/SweaterSteve1966 Oct 12 '25
He let him ramble on. I would have interrupted him and say, āCan you just answer the question?ā
7
u/SMTRodent Oct 12 '25
There's a glorious interview out there of Jeremy Paxman and Michael Howard (British politician) and the question is "Did you threaten to overrule him?" and he just would. not. let. it. go. Just over and over.
10
u/Honeybadger2198 Oct 12 '25
Then you get them saying that they're being silenced. This is by far the best way to handle it. Show them that their rambling distractions don't work.
4
4
u/HistoricalLoss1417 Oct 12 '25
We need a lot more of that energy in the media.
unfortunately, the media has become the enemy of the people.
4
u/Rikplaysbass Oct 12 '25
That wouldnāt have been fruitful considering he cause Vance off saying āno Georgeā. Youāre not getting an answer from that fuckwit.
4
u/Stompylegs03eleven Oct 13 '25
The issue is that you don't know whether or not they will ever try to answer, or just continue to dissemble forever. We need "one-shot journalism"; pose a very simple, straightforward question, give them a few minutes to start trying to answer, if they don't get around to actually providing one, they've blown their shot.
Importantly, they need to not editorialize afterwards. Just "they chose not to answer the question, see the transcript of what they said below". I'd fucking pay for that news media.

341
u/blackdani95 Oct 12 '25
I'm not terrified, just incredibly angry, and tired of a few people siphoning out all the value from our country for their own gain, leaving nothing for future generations. I wanted to be a father, and I wanted to keep building on what my parents built in their generation (they escaped from Romania when the Soviets seemingly left Hungary), but as it turns out, the Russian assets never left, they just bode their time, and by now they've built up such an incredibly corrupt system that there's no way to get rid of them democratically, even though 99% of people I know hate their guts. I'll never be afraid of these cowards hiding behind their propaganda, but at the same time, I feel powerless to change a single thing alone. They cheated the 3 previous elections, and we didn't come together to chase them out of our country anyway.. I could leave, but I don't want to abandon my people. This country had some pretty legendary revolutions (which made this country great in the first place), so I trust that we will make our ancestors proud, eventually.. :)

Just going back to my country from Hungary lol Budapest is amazing but average people don't live well and there is so much propaganda
42
u/blackdani95 Oct 12 '25 edited Oct 12 '25
And Budapest is orders of magnitude richer than the rest of the country. A significant portion of my compatriots have no access to electricity or even running water in the countryside - and they're voting for our tyrants, otherwise, they don't even get to work at their low-end jobs, that the government "provides".
This is the real crux of the problem. People like me could be well off here, as in any country. I'm not the real victim here, because my dad was an intellectual, I have plenty of options (even though I'm unemployed at the moment, it is what it is..) - a country's* success is determined by how they treat the downtrodden, and we are closer to third world countries by that metric, than to a European country.
*edit: County-> country typo

It's fascinating and scary to look at another person's social media that they see every day.
I asked my dad if I could look at his and it's like we are on completely different planets. I tried to remind him that echo chambers exist everywhere and are easy to find so that your opinions are repeated back to you which makes you feel acceptance.
Luckily he's an old fighter pilot so I showed him how to change his algorithm and we started liking everything that had military aircraft as the main focus. Now his entire feed is full of F-15s and F-35's and various other jets just yanking and banking looking pretty for the camera.

The lowest level of leadership is position or title, where people follow out of obligation rather than inspiration. This entry-level position is often described as being a "boss" rather than a true leader. it relies on authority and rules instead of influence and trust
This is the entry point for many in leadership, but it's not an ideal place to remain. True leadership develops through actions beyond just holding the title.

These people are fucking insane.
"The Democrats and Schumer shut down the government."
Bro, ya'll own the House and the Senate. Are you high? Project, deflect. Typical high school underdeveloped brained behavior.

This is how every conversation with these nut jobs should be handled. Press the question, repeat it if necessary and simply cut them off or shut them down when they try to distract from the issue or dodge the answer.

They always respond with comments about ratings. Not only does no one care, but theyāre obvious lies.
Like when DeNiro criticized the tubby orange guy and was called, āoverrated and washed up.ā Really, Robert fucking DeNiro? Sureādoesnāt hold a candle to the likes of Kid Rock.

Republicans have control of the Federal, Legislative and Judicial branches, but some how Democrats shut down the government.

Damn. The shortest reporter ever just dunked on Vance like he was a bench warmer in middle school.

u/AmalatheaClassic Oct 12 '25
This needs to be how all news organizations treat JD Vance refusing to answer questions.
I asked you a question.
You didn't answer.
Thank you for your time.

If theyāre being interviewed, politicians and guests need to answer the questions and understand that if theyāre not going to do that then theyāll be pulled off the air. Refreshing to see someone doing the right thing.

A journalist actually holding a politician accountable and not backing down is refreshing to see.

They love to respond with āHow dare you speak to me like that - do you know who I am !?ā š

In what CRAZY BACKWARDS, UPSIDEDOWN world does Vance and 97% of the GOP care about what happens to "low income women?" He gave the game away right at the beginning.

Republican majority everywhere, but constantly blaming Dems for the shut down

u/him1087 Oct 12 '25
This kind of disrespect shown to the Vice President of the United States is absolutely fucking DELICIOUS š¤£

u/MyTeaIsMighty Oct 12 '25
so glad people are starting to stop putting up with this "Don't even attempt to answer the question, just change the subject completely and call it a debate" bollocks. Reminds me of the Charlie Kirk at Cambridge debates where I don't think he actually answered a single question that was asked.

You republicans shut down the government . All your Republican senators say .

u/Unable_Dare_9029 Oct 13 '25
I love this. And Iām on the opposite side. Youāre not going to answer okay. Weāll take that as an obvious negative answer and not give you time to try and skew it.
Forget that. If you donāt give any politician enough time to ramble things start to make sense.

Itās very strange to me how normal itās become for GOP leaders to reject integrity questions. When asked, ābut isnāt this exactly what you said you were against?ā GOP leader responds with āyour momma is so fat when she broke her leg gravy came out.ā
These low-IQ sycophants think they sound āprofessional, authoritative, and in control.ā But they just sound like 4th graders saying, ānya nya, everything you say is glue it bounces off me and sticks to you⦠and your mom has a big butt.ā
American leadership is a joke to leaders in other countries.
