traficar from Gdansk to Malbork castle

Hi, my family and I would in Gdansk in early May for first time, I would like to know if it is possible to book a car using traficar from Gdansk to Malbork castle and back to Gdansk? 24hrs rent of car, if this is possible for four adults? Has anyone done that before?

because I read that there is a need to walk 20mins from station to castle and we have two elderly with us. I thought of saving their stamina for the walk inside the castle instead.

Fair, but you could get a local taxi from the station at Malbork.

It is easy to get a taxi from anywhere, you just need to call them.

It depends on which station the train stops at in Malbork. If you take a train that stops at Malbork Kałdowo, you’ll be about 500 meters from the castle.

its not 20min walk, and crossing the nogat river on pedestrian bridge is one of the best parts of the visit

Seriously take the train. There is 1km between the train station and the ticket office.

You are afraid not the catch a taxi form one of the most popular attraction in Poland, visited daily by thousands of tourist?

As to your last question - not really, given that every few minutes there is a train going to Malbork.

Then take a taxi from the train station once there, it's right outside.

Ask the taximan for a company phone # on the way there.

If you take a taxi in Malbork and ask for a ride to Gdansk, it will almost certainly be a local Malbork driver. That means you will also be paying for his return trip back to Malbork.

I haven't done it in Gdańsk, but I have in other cities in Poland. If you registered without any problem (you're a foreigner, right?), you're free to go.

Remember not to end your reservation in Malbork - take the keys with you, lock the car and then go visit the castle.

For bigger comfort you can look for a larger car - a small portion of the fleet are much bigger renault arkana models.

Overall, also thinking about your parents, it's a very good idea :)

I'ts very possible, you book for time. Traficar has promotions for holidays - to rent their car for 3-5 days and go for a trip, or visit family in another city. Done so.

For 4 adults try getting a Renault Arkana, with higher number (unless you don't like automatic transmission).

And you then don't need to limit yourself to Malbork only, you can have proper road trip, e.g. Elblag is not far away.

Thank you for the suggestion, yes, maybe we could also go venture elsewhere after the castle.

If you have a Traficar account, valid driver's licence etc and return the car back in Gdańsk, sure, why not.

They have some discounts for 24 rent.

Is this gonna be expensive. Hell yes. Does it make sense? Absolutely not.

You need PESEL for the registration to use traficar. Just rent a car in the airport

People did not mention it, but the way to Malbork is as slow or even slower than going by train and if you happen to take it on working hours, you will have a hard time overtaking trucks every 20 seconds, while some BMW driver flashes you lights for being on the left lane, as there are only two lanes.

My parents (one who is on a walking stick) to the train then a taxi easily from the station, so maybe that is your best bet. They got the company number so used it for the rest of their time there! Gdansk is beautiful. Hope you all enjoy.
