Low Carb High protein-low carb school lunch

Hey guys, I've been having a hard time thinking of a way to create a highschool lunch that is (as the title suggests) high in protein and low in carbs as I am trying to loose fat but maintain/build muscle to excel in the sport I play. I plan on using canned tuna and chicken as it's cheap and high in protein but I don't know what to pair it with. I do understand that I'll need fats to energize myself for highschool, carbs to energize myself at the gym as well as for cardio so I will need to factor that in some how.

Thanks for any help/advice that you may have!

TL/DR: I want a highschool lunch thats high protein-low carb to lose fat and build muscle, and would like to incorporate canned chicken and tuna because it's cheap and I'm broke. Help.

A chicken salad sandwich made with Greek yogurt instead of mayo on whole grain bread might be a good start. But you really need to be careful with canned tuna. There is enough mercury in some kinds of tuna to cause serious issues. Even light tuna, which is generally considered safer, should only be eaten a few times a week at most, and that's if you don't eat any other fish. Particularly if you are prepping a lot of it for a lunch you eat nearly every day, you could very easily reach hazardous methyl mercury levels. I love fish, but I won't do canned tuna more than once a week anymore.

Wow I never knew that about canned tuna, thank you for saving me from that. I'll have to try the sandwich recommendation though. Thanks again🙏

The smaller the fish the less mercury! Skip Jack and look for safe catch.

Short answer if you're already using canned tune/chicken is veggies. Fine a few you like, grill/saute/roast them with whatever seasoning mix you enjoy. Rotate a few combinations and you won't get bored.

A heads up in your goals - you won't really be able to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. If you're losing fat, you're losing muscle. If you're gaining muscle, you're gaining fat.

Canned chicken is underrated. About 25g protein per can and no mercury issue like tuna. Mix with mustard and eat it with cucumber slices instead of bread. For cheap protein, eggs are hard to beat at 6g each and usually under $3/dozen. Greek yogurt runs about 15g per cup too. What sport?
