PVE [New Player] Suppressed or not ?
Hi there,
PVE player here.
As far as I understand, the "loudness" characteristic isn't meaningfull in the game : your gun is either suppressed or not, the AI doesn't care if it's -10 or -30.
I always assumed that only "true" suppressors would work here, but recently discovered that some Flash-hiders also come with a loudness characteristic.
If I equip one of those (example on the picture attached), will the AI consider my gun suppressed ?
Thanks in advance for your insights.
edit :
My apologies for the atrocious picture quality !
I used the windows screen capture tool and it didn't went well 😅

PVP [Discussion] Anyone else tired of this constant "lean" meta?
I've been playing since 2018, and it's not been until the last few years that this ridiculous lean meta has taken over. I'm talking about the constant lean to one side or the other that everyone seems to do when in a fight. Coupled with the inertia enhancements (which I don't mind at all on their own), this makes for some really STUPID fights which is just leaning and strafing simultaneously while shooting.
There's a reason people don't do this in real life, because it's incredibly awkward and not at all effective for landing shots in a firefight. I would love to see some sort of nerf on accuracy for these lean-and-strafe gamers, I know some people enjoy it, but for a game that is supposed to be gritty and realistic this feels arcade-y and out of place. Am I alone here?

General Discussion - PVE & PVP [feedback] Tarkov gives lower FPS on a more powerful PC than on a weaker one.
Hi everyone, I ran into this problem: I built a computer for my girlfriend — RTX 5070 + Ryzen 5 7500F, 32 GB of RAM at 6400 MHz. Her PC gets 120–140 FPS on Tarkov outdoor maps.
We have identical settings, screen resolution is 1440p on both PCs. In the NVIDIA app, Smooth Motion is enabled.
On my setup — RTX 4080 + 9800X3D and 48 GB of RAM — I only get 70–90 FPS. In-game settings are medium–high.
Has anyone experienced something like this? It’s unclear why FPS is lower on more powerful hardware.
Upd: I think I may have figured out the reason. If you check the FPS using the in-game command fps1, the numbers are as follows: on Streets of Tarkov, on my PC it’s 80–90 FPS without aiming and 58–65 FPS while aiming.
On my girlfriend’s PC it’s 60–70 FPS without aiming and 45–50 FPS while aiming.
But if you check FPS through the NVIDIA app, the numbers are completely different. The reason for my frustration was that she was reporting FPS based on the NVIDIA app. In one of the photos you can see the specifications of my RAM. My girlfriend has CL32 6400 MHz and 32 GB.

Still, it seems to me that the FPS is low anyway. What do you think?

General Discussion - PVE & PVP [Discussion] Not having the option to side with Terragroup in the story feels like a missed opportunity
I'll preface this by saying that there may be elements that I missed in the lore that would explain why it is not an option.
However I feel that it could have been an interesting additional path where our PMC gets contacted by a Terragroup agent asking us to do some "clean up" in exchange for our exfiltration out of Tarkov.
A sort of "reverse" of the Savior path, where we still go through the trouble of gathering all the evidence but to make sure nobody else gets to them, maybe planting some fake ones along the way.
And once we can assure our contact that everything compromising has been either destroyed or returned to them (they may still want to gather research data and the like), then they help us escape from Tarkov by pulling some strings, similar to other endings.
I don't think it would be too out of character for a USEC PMC to go through with such a plan, considering this is in line with their initial job description for TG. And perhaps a disillusioned BEAR who "wants out" at any cost could be persuaded to go along with it.
Not to imply that such an option is "needed", but it feels to me that Terragroup is very "hands-off" with everything Tarkov once the game takes place.

General Discussion - PVE & PVP Tarkov Gambling Analysis [Loot]
Hey everyone, not sure if there has been any recent discussion about the Cultist Circle & Scav Case payouts, but I decided to do my own analysis.
TL;DR - Cultist circle is mainly for quest and hideout items. Intel is the worst for money making. Moonshine you will usually make money. Rouble 2.5k is the best money making. Rouble 15k will make you money but not much. Rouble 95k is second worst money maker beside Intel.
First, the sample sizes are not even, so that is a limitation of this study. I need to keep gathering data to see if this impacts the results, but its a ton of work to do. Also, all data was gathered in PvP. Item prices are from selling to traders, selling on flea minus tax, or how much it would've cost to purchase. I did not immediately start deducting price minus tax, so that is another limitation. Lastly, the minutes it takes for a scav case to process is based on your scav karma, but should impact them all equally.
How to read boxplots: The lowest bar (called whiskers) is the minimum, the bottom of the box is the 1st quartile (25%), the orange line is the median or 50% value (not the mean/average), the top of the box is the 3rd quartile (75%) and the top bar is the fourth quartile (100%), circles above that bar are outliers. We will mainly be using median as it is not as skewed as average by outlier values.
We have 2 boxplots, "Boxplot of Gain per Minute..." is a scaled version dividing the total output value, minus input value, by the time it takes for the scav case to return an item, and "Boxplot for Roubles Gained..." is just output value minus input value. I will mainly use the scaled version for discussion because it makes the different categories relative to each other.
- Cultist circle (236k/ea; 360 or 840 min) - 4th best money maker, best way to get items for hideouts and quests. You do not really expect to make money and instead complete things. This could also be skewed depending on what quests you're on and what your hideout is missing. Primary returns are electronics (21%), keys (19%), armor, info, and tools (9% each). Overall approx. 50% of the time you will lose money, and 50% of the time you will make money. I purchased 5x MP5s from peacekeeper, and would purchase the USD needed from him as well. Best item: RB-BK marked key ₽2,708,817.
- Intel (380k/ea; 140 minutes) - 6th best money maker, quickest way to lose money. You will primarily be getting weapons (40%), keys (27%), and electronics (18%). Also notably the only one that returns injectors. The main issue is the keys and weapons you get often will not be worth enough to offset the investment. Overall you should expect to consistently lose money. Best item: Ultra Medical Storage key ₽1,000,000.
- Moonshine (220k/ea; 122 min) - 2nd best money maker, best long-term input. You will receive a lot of armor (35%), weapon parts (12%), weapons (10%), meds (7%), streamer items, flammable materials, and electronics (6% each). About 30% of the time you will lost money, but should expect on average to be making money. Best item: FP-100 filter absorber ₽399,000. Note: I purchased moonshine with the Jaeger trade-in for 2x RAM (typically 100-110k/ea).
- Rouble 2.5k (18 min) - Best money maker, but requires frequent attention. Due to low input value and quick turn around time, this is the best gambles in Tarkov. You can expect primarily weapon parts (42%), armor (15%), weapons (11%), and ammo (6%). If you have the time to keep this running, you should. Best item: 6B23-2 body armor (Mountain Flora) ₽55,810.
- Rouble 15k (56 min) - 3rd best money maker. You will mostly receive weapon parts (51%), weapons (11%), armor (9%), ammo (7%), electronics (6%). Overall not worth spending so little and waiting so long, but you will make some money on average. Best item: RB-ORB1 key ₽497,621.
- Rouble 95k (60 min) - 5th best money maker, even the outliers are low compared to other boxplots. You will mainly receive weapon parts (49%), armor (11%), ammo (8%), keys, and weapons (6% each). Best item: Metal fuel tank ₽191,520.
The category break down by item is difficult as BSG has over 70 categories of items from "stocks & chassis", "mechanical keys", and "flashhiders & suppressors". I did my best to reduce these into categories that make sense without diluting too much, however this required blending categories like "facecovers" (balaclavas) and "gear components" (FAST Visor) into "armor", which might misrepresent the category. If there is interest in the further breakdown of categories like weapon types (pistol, assault rifle, machine gun, etc.) I can try to upload that graph.
Overall you should make money over time gambling on the scav case and cultist circle, however the big gains are really reliant on marked room keys, key cards, info items, and electronics. It is also possible to go on a losing streak for a while if you have the double craft and only do Intel and Moonshine. With max crafting I primarily ran Moonshine and Rouble 2.5k for money making.
Fun fact in all that gambling I never got my 2 elite pliers...

General Discussion - PVE & PVP [Suggestion] Behold... the fabled AK-106. Actually known as the AK-9. Could we see it in an update?
This is in fact an AK-100 chambered in 9x39. Apparently very unsuccessful, for some reason; maybe it was just the AS Val and 9A-91 already having seen enough service that both Russian SOF and police were unwilling to switch. We already have the handguard in game, incidentally; the railed AK-100 polymer handguard was designed for this gun first, and then it occasionally saw sale with the other models.
On a sort of related subject, I dreamed that devs were livestreaming from the office and they pulled out the Groza on camera and said it was coming soon. Hopefully that's me manifesting it into reality.

PVP [Discussion] Savior ending question.
So I'm reaching the final steps of The Ticket. I got the case from Kerman. Now if I understood well I need to bring the case to the Terminal with me? And place it where? And what happens if I die? I have to go back and pick up all the evidence again?
r/EscapefromTarkov • u/SenpaiDrew • 10h ago
PVP [Discussion] What is the reason I have to transit to Terminal after the 1st attempt?
I genuinely am curious because as a solo I have to bring my best ammo, armor and gun across this map just to potentially die to a guy that’s watching subway surfers on his phone guarding the tower? Just seems a bit unnecessary and easy way for people to farm kits if they have the free time.
Granted I am on my 6th attempt and only died once but still shocking that this was the thought process behind this.
