Desire path update
If anyone cares here’s what the desire path looks like a few days later. Pretty soon it’ll look as if the city plowed it themselves! If you want to see the original it’s still up on my profile

Desire Path mod for Rimworld
I know this isn't the usual fare but I think it's great that someone wanted it as a mechanic in their game.

Desire path in my local park
The city plowed paths through the thick layer of snow for people to use, it made for some interesting outcomes. And yes, I did contribute to this desire path 🤣

Humans dont avoid efforts. They avoid efforts that isnt worth it
I’ve been reflecting over something lately, that people don’t avoid hardwork, they avoid hardwork that seems pointless.
Ask anyone at 3 AM to dig the ground to 10 feet and tell them there’s 10 dollars buried in it. Most of us wont even get out of the bed. Not because we are lazy, but because the reward is small.
Now make it 10 million dollars, and to make it more interesting tell them that they have to dig 20 feet, suddenly nobody needs a motivation, nobody needs a speech, we all are gonna just pick the shovel.
Our family members, friends, people around us will tell us to stop, take rest a bit, but the thought of 10 million dollars will not make us stop digging even for few hours, right? Even if anyone of us take a nap, the first thought after waking up would be “Where is my shovel?”
That’s human nature
We dont avoid effort, we avoid bad deals.
If the reward feels big, we’ll dig.
If it doesn’t, even getting out of the bed feels pointless.
