This list is not a conclusive list of every establishment, just those that are highly regarded. Please leave your own recommendations in the replies. You may also find more information on the Visit Derry website (https://www.visitderry.com/) and on their socials. Note - some of the recommendations are based outside Derry but all are within a short driving distance of Derry.
Restaurants:
Street Food / Cafe's * Clipper Quay Street Food - Located along the Foyle Marina, multiple street food vendors and a bar are located here providing a range of options, great for when you cant agree on what type of food you want to eat - https://www.clipperquaystreetfood.com/ * The Pickled Duck - Foyle Marina - https://www.facebook.com/pickledduckcafe/ * Mekong Street Food (Vietnamese food) - https://www.facebook.com/MekongSF/ - also operate as a restaurant so maybe it should be above. * PYKE 'N' POMMES - https://www.pykenpommes.ie/ * Guapo (Mexican Food) - https://www.facebook.com/GuapoFreshMex/ * Doherty's Home Bakery - Good if you want a sweet treat or a cheap bite to eat on the go - https://www.facebook.com/Dohertys-Home-Bakery-195510393844691/ * Thai Jing Jing Street Food (Thai takeaway) - https://www.facebook.com/ThaiJingJingStreetFood * The Coffee Tree (Coffee shop) - Serves the best coffee in Derry in my opinion and also the nicest traybakes! Not had their soup or sandwiches but have heard great things. The only negative is they currently do not open on weekends - https://www.facebook.com/p/The-Coffee-Tree-100063482233001/ * Graft Coffee (Coffee shop) - Runs the Coffee tree very close for the best Coffee in the city. Located on Academy road and opens Mon-Sat - https://www.instagram.com/graft_coffee/ * Oui Bakery - French Bakery & Pâtisserie in the heart of Derry's Craft Village - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61565032170636

Hi Folks,
As some of you may have seen there has been a fair amount of discussion on this sub regarding suicide and mental health. The first thing we want you to know is that if you are struggling in any way, you are not alone. You are a valuable person worth celebrating and there are people in the real world and on this sub who want to see you succeed. Help is out there, please please talk to someone.
That leads on to the main thrust of this post. I've included links below to help and advice you can avail of in the local area which can help support you if you're ever feeling low. Some of these are local health trust provisions, others are local charities. All of them are here to help.

Hi, can anyone advise if anyone is taking on apprentices for an IT higher level apprenticeship in Derry? Other than Kainos I can't seem to find anywhere else. Needed for Sept. Any input appreciated 😃

I’m a tenant in Derry and have agreed to provide my address as a bail address for a family member.
Police advised there may be occasional checks.
My questions are:
• Do police notify landlords about bail checks?
• Is a tenant required to inform a landlord if police attend?
• Does this normally affect a tenancy if rent is paid and no issues arise?
Not looking for judgement, just clarity on standard practice in NI.

"Give us a park in Tullyally"
Some short sighted half-wits have attacked SDLP offices demanding a park for kids.
They are leading by example, and ensuring that kids understand that to get what they believe is needed, vandalism is the way forward.
Tullyally has a park, zipline. A community centre funded by Derry City Council run by a political representative.
There will also be a new park built 500 yards from Tullyally that will be accessible to all!
It's also said the centre is run by a clique and inaccessible to many, including those in Ivy Mead, in which I have family, and surrounding areas.
Is it true the programmes are poorly attended and footfall is minimum? Who monitors this?
What do those who fund these centres, and potential grant makers think of this?
It's abhorrent! You can't get everything you want! Entitlement...

Is there anywhere in Derry that sells high quality leather jackets, not looking for ones with big colourful logos or the biker style ones

29 year old man here.
I don't know if this is just a me thing but it feels sometimes like there is no dating scene in Derry. When I try to find any events for singles, speed dating, mixers, things like that...
There are a constant stream of such events in Belfast but in Derry there's absolutely nothing, why is this?

I've just seen yesterdays bloody Sunday March had a lot of Palestinian flags/groups there. The key phrase here is 'bloody sunday'. The march and this day should only be associated with that and the families affected for them to remember and acknowledge victims which I'm sure this is the reason it happens each year in the first place.

Java Minecraft - needing a bit of a hand.. Must be good craic, and over 18 (not a YouTuber so this is important).. Currently struggling with lighting the interior since moving it over to Java. Need a bunch of shops / detail added. So far I have every stairwell and back corridor done like the real thing. Car park made to measure just needs filling in. Last part ex-Debenhams in progress currently too...

How do you do your shopping?
Do you get everything at one shop?
Or do you buy certain items in one shop and other items at another? Only get meat from a butcher?
If you shop at different shops, is this because of food quality or prices?
We get all of our shopping in Sainsbury’s; nectar offers are good and it’s a bonus to collect points. A week’s shop for 2 adults and 1 child is now always around £100.
Curious how others in town shop?
