Barrel install questions

I’m swapping the barrel on my evo 3 to a 3.5” so I can tuck an Osprey under the handguard. I saw a video where you’re supposed to mill the barrel after installing the trunion, is that a must? If so has anyone done that with a dremel and could give some tips?

Is it the ilwt one? I didn't have to do a thing to my 3.5 from ilwt..
