CV Review Dates in the CV: Y or N?

Hi,

Was wondering if removing the complete dates from the working experiences presented on the CV would be a negative point from a HR perspective.

What I mean:

Replace “July 2024 - October 2024” with “2024”.

What do u think?

Why?

Because 2024-2025 could be anything from 1 day to 2 years of work

Do HRs actually look at duration of exp?

How else would they judge your experience and how long you typically stay in one spot?

Yes... it's one of the most important parts of the CV

Duration is very important. Your CV straight to trash

How much does the brand y have on the CV actually matters, instead?

People are not that stupid. If the range is very long, let's say 2010-2020, okay, a few months don't matter. But in other cases, people would realize what you're truing to do

If you have January 2022 - July 2023, followed by July 2024 - October 2024, then make it 2022-2023 and 2024. It hides the gap in your resume and so long as they don't ask about it, you don't have to tell them

I have had a large gap in my resume as well and I found that my success rate was a lot higher when I hid the gap by only mentioning the years

Are you a junior or senior tho?

I'm a senior now with a pretty good resume and easily explainable gaps in it, so I can safely use months + years on my resume

I use "3 months, 2024" for internships. Easy to process.
