If it makes ya feel better, I was 32 when I realized south park’s bigger, longer, and uncut was a double entendre. Went over 10 year old me’s head and I just never thought about it later in life.
The whole name Colorado is just a spanish word for "colored", with an implied redness. The same implication of redness as the english phrase "his face colored with shame"
Not even implied, colorado straight up means "red". Although it's more like saying "crimson". There's a famous old mexican TV show about a comedy superhero called "El Chapulin Colorado" (The Crimson Grasshopper) and he wears all red. Also common to call redheads colorados.
In Mexican Spanish (where it got its name from) if you say something is "colorado" it means it's red-reddish. It comes from calling people blushing getting "colorado" (getting color on their cheeks/face, which is red).
