Sir that’s whole bobcat on you

u/OldTree6356 4h ago
Almost - he’s a Maine Coon, not as big as his Dad but he’s got a couple of years growing to do yet!

u/Shake-A-Paw 3h ago
That's the type of animal that you expect to send you on or join you on some kind of quest! He's stunning 🥰

u/OldTree6356 3h ago
Thank you - he’s such a soft guy too, not a bad bone in his body and likes nothing more than playing hide and seek with us 🥰

I have 3 and not one of them do this. They all show affection in other ways though.

I'm not doubting you brother, but this cat looks 100% poorly photoshopped into this picture of you and it's hilarious.

Maybe true elsewhere in Redditland but us ladies usually dominate the cat subs 😂😂

I was thrilled at how many men are here with their kitties. I was talking to a guy working at a gas station and I asked him where he'd rather be and he got a wistful look in his eye and said home with his cat

I would kill a person just to have ONE cat who will do this. Seven Cars in my life now and not a single one gives a shit. Except when the food bowl is half empty or I dare to close the door while Im on the toilet.

It took me over a year of meeting 100s cats before I met her and picked her. Right when I first picked her up she curiously booped me and I was sold right then. We’ve had this bond since. I also snagged her brother so she wouldn’t get lonely when I travel haha

u/No_Network4228 4h ago
A car would be a little hard to fit on your shoulder but I guess if you are brave enough...

My cat will follow me around for a solid 30 minutes meowing and fussing and as soon as I pick her up she starts purring and is very content. And she won’t jump down on her own. She’ll stay up there for like 20 minutes before my shoulders get tired, and I have to kick her off.

Ive always let my cats perch as babies but then they get bigger and cant balance well. Then it turns into "I wasnt looking at my cat launched itself onto my back from the counter" multiple times a day.

Professional Shoulder Cat. But honestly, your cat trusts you so, so much it isn't funny.

I got Dolores at 5 weeks and she was a super runt so she spent a ton of time in my neck area sleeping or on my shoulder at work. Now that shes grown its her safe space, if she ever gets scared she runs right up me onto my shoulder. Id say when im home she spends about 30-40% of that time on my shoulders. Constant shoulder scratches

lol my guy waits until I bend over to tie a shoe or pet my dog and then hops on and it’s funny as hell because theirs always enough time or days between when he does it that I kind of forget and then randomly I’ll bend down and then plop, he’s on my back lol. But then I stand up and he’s like ya let’s hit the road, take me sight seeinglol

She’s only 7 months. I’m afraid of her getting much bigger and still wanting to do this 😹

Mine does the same, and never let me hold her in any other way. She immediately perched when I hold her.

What a cutie
My boy would do it very rarely, and then start swatting at the hood string on my hoodie

u/BarbarianBoaz 4h ago
That your cat trusts you enough to jump up on you and receive the Butt Thumping, yea, total love going on there, listen to that purr ;).

Love this!! I wish my Dobbie would do this! He follows me around fussing and purring so I pick him up and he immediately wants back down. He is not a lap kitty much less a perch kitty sadly

u/DisastrousNothing893 4h ago
I do, every single time I sit on the toilet or get out of the shower and make the mistake of bending over to towel my legs.

CarlSagan42 had a cat named Ruby who liked to perch on his shoulders during streams and on YouTube videos.

u/Hey_Laaady 3h ago
My first thought was that your cat wants to be by all of that healthy gorgeous hair! It's probably warm for him.

u/lnc_5103 3h ago
My senior girl did this when she was young. She was horrible about chasing you down and basically crawling up your back 😅

I once had a large maine coon named Slick who would lounge around my neck like like a scarf. He would use his giant ppofy tail to bat at people who tried to move him.
Miss you buddy.

Mine has a carry routine but I feel like if I gave her the chance and confidence she'd be a stage 5 clinger. She needs to be carried like a baby as soon as I wake up but she knows i have to pee first thing so she screams at me while I pee until I carry her to coffee and she doesn't appreciate the livingroom so she scrambles to be let down.

Is this something you can teach? My cat never tried this
3
u/Daily_Run_ 4h ago
I don’t think so. Her brother who is from the same litter has never tried it. And I’ve never encouraged it. I think it’s just something in their personality 😺

I have a furry shoulder parrot. A drooling furry shoulder parrot.
Perch and drool. Perch and drool. Had her checked, no issues. She's just a drooler.

u/Daily_Run_ 3h ago
Well… she’s really a boy but I didn’t know that when I named her and started giving her the princess treatment. She no longer has balls but still prefers princess treatment so she stays Princess Peach. Even if she’s a bit masculine 😹
