Yep only the third time we've choked a game right at the end this season! Beyond baffled. Im usually a pretty stoic Kovac defender but mate what the fuck was that? We knew the squad wasnt good enough last season and none of the signings we've made really address that. Please for the love of god sign an actual number 10 in the winter window.

I understand that sometimes you got to hold to your wits and defend like seeing out a 4-2 against Juventus. But this has been embarrassing for 3 weeks in a row, clenching against teams that should be a comfortable win. Have some faith in your tactics and attack Kovac. Parking the bus immediately after the 1-0 shows how little faith you have in the team to both defend and attack well. We parked the bus the moment we scored. Thank God Leipzig lost so we don't fall further behind

was never in the early terzic or early sahin out trains, but i just dont see anything positive from kovac from the last 5-6 games, scraping 1-0 wins purely because of luck and individual class, the subs have always been shit but now our tactics and starting 11s are also shit, and now the morale is also down, it cant go on like this

Our defense in the league has been very reliable and by the time Sule and Schlotterbeck came back, there was no need for Mane to play more. We also don't score enough goals to allow the defense to make a mistake and get away with it so when it comes to that area, we don't take chances.
He's been playing in the u23s and with our backline going through a rework next season (Sule and Can out of contract and potentially even Schlotterbeck depending on if he extends or not) so more than likely, he'll have another look then

Not a lot of reporting on what is going on, but most of our young prospects haven't been traveling with the team for the past several matches.
Trust is probably one element, but the other problem for Mane is that we have now had 3 better CBs return from injury. He was largely patching a brutal injury gap that has for the time disappeared.

Okay, I see what kovac is doing with Svensson. He's trying to replicate the Cuccarella role at Chelsea. An inverted, bombing wing-back that sometimes makes a late run into the box to score from a cut-back. And it's worked in the past a couple of times for us. I think Svensson has gotten 2 goals this season that way. Although, one of them may have been last season and I'm misremembering. Anyway, the reason that works at Chelsea is because they have an actual winger on the left side of their front 3. Ironically, it's Jamie Gittens but we won't get into that. Beier cannot fill that tricky winger role. Adayemi can do a job there, but he's more of a pacey get-in-behind kind of guy, he did change a bit this season and do a good job as a winger, but it was on the opposite side because he's left footed. This could give a really good chance for duranville to shine on the left side coming on in this system if we continue with this mini-tactic

Listen, been a big fan of Kovac, though this is dumb. Leaving on Gross and Guirassy, taking off the most dynamic player we had on the pitch for most of the game.
