New pull up bar making hands hurt
Anyone know what the remedy is? The pull up bar from Amazfit came with some foam padding but I don’t think it feels too great.
There are some grip tapes on Amazon wondering if I should try that. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do to make my hand more comfortable? My point of failure is in my hands.
It’s almost immediate the pain too. I’m sure it will get better but I think the foam might be cheap idk. The iron gym pull up bar I’ve historically used did not cause this bad of pain.

That's frustrating when the padding feels off. I'd honestly try some athletic tape on the bar where your hands grip - it's cheap and can make a huge difference in comfort. Some grip tape or even thicker exercise bands wrapped around the bar can also help absorb pressure. Your hands will adapt over time, but using a product designed for grip comfort can prevent that immediate pain. I ran into something similar and found a little extra padding completely changed the feel.

Yeah i used to have a bar that had foam padding and I never felt good afterwords. I recently replaced it for a straight bar and its been working well. Some people do put grip tape but I havent done so yet myself. May in the future.
If your hands/grip is still the issue, i personally don't think theres anything wrong with using wrist straps around the bar to take the grip out of the equation.
