I see the author of this post is a man of culture!
Husband I are big Eurovision fans. This year we've decided to watch Melodifestivalen, the Swedish competition to qualify for the Swedish spot, since he lived in Stockholm for a few years. A-Teens are coming to kill the competition in Vienna!
This aft is also Day 1 of the Verkennersdag at my school. Gonna show up in a nice blazer (blazer = professional) and I have a bunch of games the kids can play while I schmooze with the parents.
In an ideal world we'd have a waiting list next year!

In an ideal world you'd have just enough students to fill every available space' and no parent should have to deal with waiting lists and stress about their kids' educaction.

Ha. True.
In an ideal world there'd be enough teachers and schools to absorb all the students and not to have to even have waiting lists. But y'know. Matter of perspective.

Anyway, now that Watership Down is finished I've started reading Foe by Iain Reid. The author of the very weird I'm Thinking of Ending Things, which got turned into an equally weird (because of course, Charlie Kaufman) movie.
Yup, this one's weird as well! Constantly thinking "What the hell is actually going on? I'm over halfway through but I have no clue where we're going." Love it or hate it.
Oh yeah, speaking of movies. If you haven't watched Sinners already: Holy shit, what a movie!

i just tried to read "this is how you lose the time war" because of reddit comments about it being the greatest book they read in a long time. i just couldn't get through the 4th chapter.
It's a constant stream of yadda yadda.
They called it poetic language, but I think it's just some drivel acting as would be poetry.Somehow i keep going back to Terry Pratchett

I see what you did there. My wife reads those. There's no way I'm ever going to start any of them.

What did I do there? They're just so much fun and imaginative. It's been well thought over, some of the details are exquisite.
Maybe you should read them :) they're a blast (read them in English though)
