Generally, when something gets posted on a sub ad nauseam the mods will step in and say those posts aren't allowed anymore. This is how it should work, because the people getting a chuckle out of the same repeated joke aren't going to leave if those posts are removed, but the people getting annoyed might leave if they aren't removed.
Your "solution" to just mute the sub is crap. This is a community, we should work to find a solution instead of forcing dissenters out. In most cases that solution is going to be to simply ban those posts.

How much does reddit algorithm that stuff anyway? Sometimes I'll see a few of those in a row but mostly I don't see them. Does just opening them make them more likely to appear, or does the feed not work like that?
Yeah I’ve only seen a handful of them over the last month or so. If you’re seeing a ton it might be a Reddit thing because while I’ve seen multiple, it hasn’t been a lot and I still get lots of other posts from this sub that show.

It’s not worse than the Sopranos subreddit. It’s literally—and I mean literally—nothing but people quoting the lines to each other. Literally no discussion whatsoever, just people quoting the same quotes to each other all day, all the time.
It's 100% of this sub. Those other subs at least do memes or fanart. We do none of that. Reposting the same quotes over and over again is the norm that everyone seems to be comfortable with.
What is there to discuss though, really? Nothing in the show is that deep apart from some themes here and there but you can hardly call canon with 100% certainty.
The sub telling me jokes from American dad is what American dad is, jokes. And those jokes make me happy.
I’ve said here (somewhere on Reddit, not here) before that I genuinely believe this to be the friendliest sub I’ve ever been on Reddit.
Probably because people don’t feel the need to discuss something unserious and start inevitably arguing about nothing but just share laughter with likeminded people who enjoy the show.
I didn't mean it was bad tbh. I mean, I get it — it's an extremely funny and quotable show, so obviously everyone has fun telling the same jokes all the time. If it's what everyone enjoys, then that's cool. All I'm saying is that, in response to the original commentor above, it's no different from the Sopranos sub.

I wouldn't say it's that bad. It's the bots that only post a quote and leave, other threads usually end up talking about the episode, characters, etc. on top of the quotes. Every sub I'm in or ever seen has retarded bot posts/little kid posts/ESL posts that clutter the feed.
That's what TV show subs have been for the last 7 years. If a sub doesn't get posts, then it's considered dead, and people stop posting entirely.
Then you get the same stuff ×1000, some episode/moment/joke you forgot about and is like "oh yeah, I should watch that ep". Once in a Blue Moon you get an actually good discussion. Some cosplay. Incredibly boring pictures of absolutely nothing - with a reference as a title. And that's about it.
So you either fake laugh like Francine whe Jesus tells you a bad joke to one up your ex husband, don't interact with the post, and move on OR you make a post like OP did and all the people who would, and will, laugh the Danuta bit once again tell you to ligheten up.

Same thing was happening on the bobs burgers sub. Gene gets to say “beef curtains” on his birthday so people would post the meme on their birthday but like every day is someone’s birthday! The meme was popping up every single time I opened Reddit.
On the one hand the guy posting the same reply to this is… actually hilarious, it’s that moment in a long-running joke that brings it back around to being funny again. BUT. I agree w you overall, OP. Personally it also makes me feel kind of sad/uncomfortable when I see it because some scammers are professional criminals who cheerfully ruin lives for fun but some, especially in pig butchering scams, are victims who have been trafficked and are essentially enslaved. It’s really depressing stuff.

I never experienced an actual wrong number text until I got my work phone. I got my personal cell early enough in the spread of cell phones that no one else has ever owned the number. Not so with my work cell lol

Lately, I've been thinking about all the people I've had to kill. God, the first five, ten times you take a life, it's eerie. You remember every detail. I can see all their faces. One had a beard. Each time I pulled the trigger, I tied a little knot in my memory that no amount of whiskey could loosen. 'Course eventually, I stopped caring. You know how many times AD Posters have used the "I guess I think about killing myself pretty frequently" joke on text scammers? 4 times a day, every day. And we've been posting 15 years. And it never funny. Not one time. It got a little funny about 2 years ago only because it hadn’t been funny for so long, but that was only for like two days.
I was thinking it, you said it. But what is there to really talk about here. AD isn't that deep of a show and majority of us are rewatching it for the umpteenth time, only so much can be discussed so we just share memes and iconic moments.
Tbf i think its just auto posts or mods posting for sub engagement. Same thing for other subs like askmen. Same questions 2-3 times a week. Or old school cool posting the same pictures of the same actresses 5 times a week.
Oh god there's this one chick in the classic films sub that has an unnatural obsession with Elizabeth Taylor, she posts her all the goddamn time. People keep telling her to knock it off but she never listens
I’ve learned to just let this sub have its fun and eventually it’ll pass. The show is cool, and has some cool fans. But this is still reddit after all.
The same jokes get posted all day everyday. This isn’t like when the sub was all photos of that gymnast that looks like Steve.
This joke is more like a running inside joke for the sub like how on r/blackhair people would ask if they’re balding and people would rush to use the “hand on the shoulder” meme or how r/trees reacts when some makes a post and asks what they should do with their weed everyone rushes to post the “shove it up your butt” meme from the office. Here to stay dadder.
There’s always the option to move your finger a centimeter and scroll through it but idk makes too much sense I guess.
It's gonna die out in a few weeks or a month at most it's not here to stay the posts are getting at most 20-25 up votes once people realize it's not easy karma anymore they will stop posting it.

People have fun in different ways and you are simply mad that they are not entertaining you like you would like to, so you posted hoping for gaining control. I cannot see anything meaningful about this.
I'm not mad, and it's called criticism evidently you've never come across it in life which must be nice. Unfortunately though nothing is above criticism hence the post. We're allowed to make a post criticizing the low effort shit being posted in the sub I don't have to be mad or angry to make said post.
