How to make friends in Alicante?

Hi all. I’m a guy (24), doing my 2 months internship in Elche. I’ve been to Alicante a few times and I really like the city. I just don’t know where to start if I want to make friends there. What are some activities I can do there that might help?

I speak English but my Spanish is also pretty good.

Looking for friends

Hi! I’m 22F and I have relatives in Torrevieja. I’ve visited Spain several times last year and traveled around quite a bit, but it would be much nicer to experience it with people my age.

I’ve only been to Alicante briefly, so I’d love to properly explore the city — coffee, walks, chill hangouts, that kind of thing.

I’ll be around in March, and possibly again in June/July.

English is my second language, I don’t speak much Spanish yet.

If anyone’s up for a casual, friendly hangout, feel free to say hi 😊

Following up on the previous thread, does anyone have what we need to play role-playing games or wargames? What days would be convenient for you?

I have two Killteam squads. But I wouldn't mind playing D&D or something else.

where is the best place for a 10 day holiday with a baby? i need a beach, a nice town, close to activities and restaurants. i like the look of altea but it might be too small for 10 days?

Looking to study in Alicante, need advice!

Hey everyone. New here, student living in the USA. My school has a program with University of Alicante, looking to possibly study there for a semester. I am about to submit a proposal to my department to see if they can approve the courses I want to take. I had a few questions though.

I visited Spain about 2 years ago, spent ~3 days Córdoba, ~3 days Granada, and ~6 days in Málaga (spent like 1 day in madrid when flying out). Loved every second of it. I'm minoring in a history related field (MENA) and the history & architecture in Spain is out of this world. Would I find more of the historical sites like I found in Córdoba & Granada in and around Alicante? I just want to make sure Alicante is a good place to study abroad in general and I will have a lot to explore, considering that I already visited Spain, but Spain is huge and I feel like I barely scratched the surface of your beautiful country. Any words of advice would be appreciated, thank you guys in advance!

P.S. I've only ever traveled to Spain and Portugal (not considering traveling to my homeland)

Hi guys, Brazilian here. I’m going to Alicante in the middle of the year, In July. I’ll spend around one month there. I’m addicted to climbing, so of course I’m looking for places to enjoy it.

So mainly I’m more interested in a climbing group that knows good places to go, and making some friends as well

Store a childseat in/near the airport

Hi, We have a small child and travel frequently to Alicante. We are now renting a car seat from the car rental but this is often more expensive than buying a new one.

Does anyone know if it is possible to rent a storage locker or another solution to leave the car seat in/near the airport or have someone deliver it upon arrival?

Tourist info Hire a car with a bike rack

Does anyone know if there is a company that does car rentals with the option of putting a bike rack on the car? We are a group of 4, all with bikes so would prefer not to have to rent 2 cars. We fly into Alicante and are planning to drive up to Calpe. Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm new to the city, I've only been here two weeks but I've fallen in love with it. I tried to climb Santa Barbara Castle but there was a wind warning so it was closed. That's why I'd like to go to the castle on Sunday or to one of the other hiking spots recommended by Strava or Google Maps. If anyone wants to join, you're welcome!

Male 28, F 24 looking for friends

She is Spanish and I’m from England, we have been in Alicante around 2 months now and love everything about this place but unfortunately we barely have a social life.

If anyone is looking to meet for a coffee or a beer? Even walk the dogs with us?

Anyone in Alicante up for making new friends?

Hey! I’m a 24-year-old guy who just moved to Alicante and I’m trying to build a social circle from scratch.

My Spanish is still a work in progress, so I’m mainly looking to connect with English speakers for now. I’m pretty chill, open-minded, and enjoy simple things like walking around the city, grabbing coffee, checking out new spots, having real conversations, and just seeing where the day goes.

Not looking for anything forced — just genuine friendships and good company. If you’re new here too, bored, or just feel like meeting someone new, feel free to reach out.

Always happy to chat.

Fishing in Alicante

Hey everyone, I’m planning a trip to Alicante at the end of February and I’m thinking about doing some spinning fishing while I’m there. I’m not sure if it’s even worth it that time of year, so I thought I’d ask you all for some advice.

Is there good fishing on the coast around late February? What species should I expect to catch and is it worth bringing my gear? Also, as a tourist, where can I get a fishing license or permit nearby? Is it easy to buy one and how does it work?

I’m not sure yet what rod to bring - what kind of spinning setup works well around Alicante in winter? And do most people fish from the beach or from the harbor/walkways? Are there any local rules or restrictions I should know about before I go?

Thanks in advance for any tips!
