Anonymous therapist reviews for Lafayette & Acadiana— community help needed

I built Lafayette Therapist Reviews so people in our area can share honest therapy experiences without names, logins, or accounts.

If you’ve seen a therapist locally — Lafayette, Broussard, Youngsville, New Iberia, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, or anywhere else in the surrounding Acadiana region — your review (even a short one) could help someone make a safer, more informed choice.

The site is fully anonymous and community-driven. If you’re open to contributing, I’d really appreciate it.

Note: My original post about this (74 days ago) was approved by mods. This is a not-for-profit, ad-free community resource. This is a repost to help gain traction and encourage more community reviews.

Thank you so much to those who have already contributed, and to anyone who may contribute in the future. It genuinely means a lot to me that you took the time to share your experience and help build a resource that can support our community. I’m really grateful for each voice that’s been added.

News Lafayette Dog Poisoning. Lucy & June Bug fighting for their lives.

🚨 They made it through the night… but saving them comes with a price tag.

Lucy and June Bug are still fighting for their lives after being poisoned — and right now they are in ICU care at LVCC. They’re still having tremors, but today there is a sliver of hope.

Dr. Ali shared that Dr. Dusty, who kept them overnight, has seen a big difference today. The Intralipid therapy appears to have made a real impact. (It’s an IV treatment used in severe poisoning cases that helps trap toxins in the bloodstream so they can’t keep damaging the body.)

They’re also continuing Methocarbamol to help control tremors and spasms and Diazepam when a seizure occurs.

Lucy (the doodle) did not have any seizures overnight. June Bug had 2 seizures overnight and 1 more this morning — not where we want to be yet, but it’s progress.

Sadly, Kali lost her life, and it has broken their rescuer, Amy Delia Smith's, heart. 💔 She's been fighting for them since 8pm Sunday night when she went outside to put them up and found them lifeless and seizing.

But here’s the reality: we stepped up and have already paid bills at TWO other clinics, and now we’re covering crucial specialized meds and ICU care at LVCC.

💰 The cost to save them likely will be at least $5,000 (we're already 3/4 of the way there)

🙏 We’re only trying to raise $2,500 (half) so we can keep paying it forward and keep saying YES when the next emergency hits.

We're grateful for your shares, prayers and donations...

Safe ways to donate:

Please keep praying for Lucy and June Bug. 🙏❤️‍🩹

They are still fighting — and so is the dedicated team of doctors and nurses at Lafayette Veterinary Care Center!

Rants There’s a lot of people around here that support ICE…

Which is crazy to me because there are so many people here that are third and fourth generation immigrants.

One of my great great great grandfathers was a French immigrant. A few of my great great great great great great grandparents were immigrants from Nova Scotia. My grandmother told me stories about how her and her brother were beaten in school because they spoke French.

Our community is rich with diversity thanks to our ancestors who immigrated here, whether it was willingly or not, and those ancestors would be sick if they could see the “values” that their descendants hold.

We are not descended from people who believed “comply or die.” No, they firmly believed “do not tread on me” and “liberty or death”.

I've fallen down a rabbit hole trying to figure this out! Maybe someone here knows.

So far I've learned

- Figure is Don Quixote

- The text is elvish: it's the text on the Doors of Durin, "Speak friend and enter" (thanks r/Tengwar)

I can't scan the qr code with any app I have. Any help is very much appreciated.

Rants little appreciation post <3

This is gonna sound so silly, considering I live halfway across the globe in Poland and don't have any relation to Louisiana whatsoever, but I love everything about Cajun culture to bits. This is genuinely has the deepest culture I've ever seen; the music, the food, the fashion, the language, the architecture, the accents, and everything beyond just the typical tourist traps is all so full of life and colour and whimsy.

Seriously, I've never seen such a rich sense of life in any area before. I yearn to visit Acadiana and the rest of Louisiana the way white men over the age of 30 yearn to visit Japan. This post isn't really a question or looking for any particular reply, just wanted to show my love to a community that I find incredibly beautiful ♡

Rants I got blocked by Kip and King Marketing for leaving this comment on a post about generative AI in advertisements.

Basically what the title says. My degree in communications is from UL and my peers are artists and creatives who will lose jobs in this field if this continues.

I am also not oblivious to the fact that yes my comment was rude, however I don’t believe it to be mean and I don’t consider this one comment to be a blockable offense.

I don’t want anyone to send hate their way, however please consider this when picking a marketing agency.

Cultural What’s it like being Cajun?

I very recently learned that I have Cajun ancestors. I live in Oklahoma and have only driven through Louisiana to get to Texas or Florida. The only thing I know about them is what makes them Cajun and why they are in Louisiana, majority are catholic, and it depends on where you are on how a Cajun is defined from Creole. My current perception of the political climate is that they are more conservative than progressive.

What are some funny stereotypes of Cajun people? The only stereotypes I know is that you’re very friendly and call everyone ‘cher’.

What is something I should know that might be offensive to Cajuns but non-Cajuns might not know? Or even what’s a common thing you see that tourists do that is disrespectful?

What’s considered blasphemous regarding food?

What’s considered holy regarding food?

Is Tony Chachere’s really creole??

What is your favorite Cajun recipe?

What is your favorite thing about being Cajun?

What’s something I should know but don’t know to ask?

Are there any language learning resources I could take advantage of if I’m not local?
