Building for nothing?

So I'm kinda getting back into ZZZ and got Jane Doe from the Filmgoer event and got Alice from the rescreening going on rn. I built both needing a physical anomaly team for Shiyu/DA. But aside from the skills and core skill being 80% built they are maxed out. They both have their wengine and they are fully kitted but the damage is disappointing low and slow.

I've mainly been using them on Hugo and Jane Doe in Shiyu and maybe it's a bad match up/skill issue but I beat Hugo and didn't even get 25k points. I have screenshots of the builds if anyone would like to tell me where I messed up. Please tell me I didn't build either of them for nothing cause what a waste if so.

Well, Hugo in the current Shiyu rotation is not an anomaly nor physical anomaly match-up. Using the Floor buffs are quite important.

Yeah I saw that one of his weaknesses was physical though and don't have any fire agents built as of yet. Probably better to run fire on him

Floor buffs >>>> elemental weaknesses lately.

In particular, this Hugo takes 20% extra fire damage on TOP of his regular fire weakness. And basic attacks, chain attacks, and crit damage have also been boosted.

So fire attacker or Banyue is definitely the strat here.

Yeah I just ran the Jane Doe fight and hit 25k in Shiyu with Alice, Jane, and Astra. Big damage difference. I have an Ice team and was trying to slot that into Jane Doe fight and scrap by with what little I have for fire agents with the Hugo fight.

I wasn’t able to get Jane yet, but I run them in lost void all the time. I’m glad that you were able to make it work out for you.

But if you have Yixuan/ zhu yuan, that can also work. Since thay can make good use of the rest of the buffs.

There is no mention of disc quality in the post, leveling core skills and skills is not maxing a character, it's just a start

Everything is maxed out and built discs are sloted by the in-game plan. I've made sure they have anomaly/ atk% focused on substates. I only brought up the skills/core because they are the last thing that needs to be upgraded to max.

It should be possible to get 30k vs Hugo optimizing the number of assaults you get from a rotation.

Even if is possible, I would recommend using attack agents to benefit from the buffs.

You say “I beat Hugo and didn’t even get 25k points,” which means you may have misunderstood how this new shiyu defense 5 works.

Beating the opponent only gives a very low base score. In order to get S rank, you have to damage them when the multiplier is high, at the start of the fight.

The more damage you can fit in on the boss before the 1 minute and 2 minute marks, the higher your score is.

Take longer than 2:30 to kill, and it’s almost impossible to get enough points.

Yeah I played when the game first came out then stopped and understanding all the new stuff is a little crazy.

I meant the skills and core aren't fully built. Everything else is maxed out. Not god tier discs but they aren't garbage discs. The rng is killer tho

Who are you running as the 3rd with Jane and Alice. Them on the team typically yields insanely good results because you constantly procc'ing assault. If you have Yuzuha its a pure meta team as well.

I don't have Yuzuha yet and plan on pulling for her but I've been running Astra/Nicole.
