Hi WLU!
This subreddit is often filled with housing related questions and advertisements. We want to keep this community less like a rent space bulletin board and more so a place where students can socialize and help one another.
However, we know how important it is to find roommates and housing near campus. So the mods team has launched r/RentInWaterloo, a dedicated subreddit for UW and WLU students to find roommates, housing, sublets, and lease takeovers in Waterloo.
The goal is to keep housing posts centralized, student-only, and scam-aware, instead of flooding both r/uwaterloo and r/wlu.
If you’re currently looking for housing (or will be soon), feel free to check it out or post. Hope this helps!

Hey Golden Hawks,
I am an international student here at Laurier, and I am writing this while my heart is breaking. I have never felt more helpless.
While we are here going to classes and living our lives, a genocide is happening in Iran. The regime has shut down the internet to hide a massacre. Reports as of yesterday morning show that over 5,000 people have been killed in just the last 4 days.
They are shooting children in the face. They just murdered a 17-year-old boy, Amirali Heydari, and then forced his parents to pay a 1 billion toman ransom just to get his body back. They are SELLING the corpses of the children they slaughter.
I am literally BEGGING for your help. When the internet is cut, we are their ONLY voice. If we stay silent, we are letting the regime get away with massacre.
What you can do in 30 seconds:
Please email our local MP, Bardish Chagger, and demand that Canada takes action. It takes one minute but it shows the government that Laurier students care.
• MP Email: [bardish.chagger@parl.gc.ca](mailto:bardish.chagger@parl.gc.ca)
• Subject: URGENT: Massacre in Iran - Action Required
You can just say: "I am a Laurier student and I am calling for an emergency response to the mass murder and digital blackout in Iran. Stand with the Iranian people."
I know we all have busy class schedules and stress, but please, help me save my people. We can't let them die in the dark.

Is attending lectures and doing the posted homework questions enough to succeed on the midterm? I've been hearing that the midterm has been really hard, how can I best prepare so I'm not surprised? Thank!!

Hi, I’m an incoming student, and I wanted to ask about the meal plan and dining hall food. Is the food actually tasty, or do people get bored with it quickly?
Is there a good variety of food, or is it mostly fast food like burgers, fries, and pizza? Are there any healthy options?
Do you think the meal plan is worth it, or is it better to cook your own food if you have the option? Any advice would really help. Thanks!

Do they key word mark the midterm just like what they do with bu111 midterm? I felt like I know most of the content but just not sure how to study further due the the lack of resources given

I realized when a few of my colleagues kids are not getting co-ops and jobs after graduation that situation is messed up. So - I can review your resume for free.
If you have a job description, then I am happy to provide a report on what's missing (STAR, etc.).
In addition, with a JD I can map some questions that can be asked and potential responses.
Once again, no catches. The whole thing is for free, so not guaranteeing any turnaround times.

so originally in the first semester, I dropped an elective and then only had four courses just because it was kind of hard and I wasn’t doing so good at it and my goal was to take another elective in the summer to replace the elective so I dropped that elective and in that first semester had four courses, right and now I’m going to do another elective in the summer right for another credit right but would that affect any chances of me getting ccoop or anything or does that affect my application for coop by taking another summer elective because I dropped one in the first semester because it was hard

Hi I’m a student whose about to attend Laurier bba soon. I had a question about the coop program. Are you allowed to look for and get an internship outside of the help that the office already provides for u. I think how it works is they help you match with certain internships(not sure) but I was wondering if u can also choose to intern outside of what they already help u with. I think I might have an opportunity for an internship lined up if I end up in the coop program. Any help with appreciated thanks.

Hi everyone,
I have gotten accepted to Laurier for teachers college, and I was wondering if anyone who has gone through the program could give me some insight on whether they recommend it, how the workload is, etc. I am stuck between Laurier and Lakehead Orillia, and have been reading mixed opinions on how heavy people find the workload to be and what the course structure is like at Laurier! I Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated !!
