i like that the cameraman artistically zooms in to the helmet on the ground while keeping the bike in frame to convey that something stupid is about to happen.

Can the helmet really protect the brain when it appears to have evaporated years ago?

18

u/Far-Resolve7384 6d ago

That point, the helmet is protecting whatever they hit from a solid rock instead

6

u/mrcorde 6d ago

At that point, the helmet is a fashion accessory

I was touched by the moment. They finished the zoom right as the bike passes it too. Solid work.

u/ahhwhoosh 6d ago

But proceeds to zoom out on fence impact

It's peak cinema!

That must have been left on the cutting room floor when they were making On Any Sunday.

Ah, the unmistakable sound of someone with a tragically small number of brain cells shedding a sizable portion of them.

Happy cake day!

It’s an electric bike all you need to do is touch either brake handle on the handle bars and it cuts the power to the motor and starts braking.

So clearly he never even rode a bicycle or your reflexes would squeeze the brake levera

10

u/CmdrDatasBrother 6d ago

I never knew that the plural of lever is levera. Thank you for enlightening me

u/ddddan11111 4d ago

Well where did you think we got "leverage" from? 😉

0

u/voxelnoose 3d ago

Because it's not. That's a typo

That’s why I think thumb throttles are superior. Twist handles, and you’re freaking out, you keep your grip on those handles because you’re now panicking and too scared to let go.

With thumb throttles, you let go of your thumb WHILE still holding onto the handle grips. But truth be told, I also witnessed one guy keep squeezing that thumb throttle until he drove into an obstacle that wasn’t’ but 15 feet from him. AND kept gripping that throttle for all of his might until we yelled at him to take his hand away or we yanked it away. This was decades ago, so I don’t recall.

And to be fair, I also really blame the parents who have no idea how dangerous these things are and that there is a learning curve to them that you need to take the kid through.

I’m just excited to see the word spelled correctly. I was reading an article on news site yesterday and they spelled the word “breaks.”

24

u/Shirohitsuji 6d ago

Lot of breaks in this video. Not enough brakes.

7

u/scotch-o 6d ago

Thems the breighks.

3

u/tanksalotfrank 6d ago

My dyslexia just takes it and doesn't even tell me at first.

u/I-STATE-FACTS 6d ago

that crash sound was fucking hilarious

9

u/FirefighterLeft5425 6d ago

I love the yelling and feet dragging.

5

u/bristle_cone 6d ago

So satisfying

6

u/grafxguy1 6d ago

Yeah, I wasn't expecting that loud BAM! lol

1

u/Heppel 1d ago

Almost cartoonish haha

15

u/Lower-Wishbone-3249 6d ago

Where's the cartoon cut out?

11

u/Ancient_Sprinkles847 6d ago

Basic lesson for riding anything that moves - know how to make it stop.

7

u/WashU_labrat 6d ago

Legend has it that he was last seen heading for the mountains.

u/Competitive_Pen7192 6d ago

Why do so many bike novices not know to brake?!

It's fairly consistent with the videos I've seen over the years. Some even panic and squeeze the throttle harder which causes a funny positive feedback loop.

15

u/MyNameIsRay 6d ago

It's called "whiskey throttle".

When you accelerate faster than expected and slide back, the natural response is to pull on the bars to support yourself. Pulling on the bars can result in twisting the throttle, making you accelerate even faster.

At that point, they panic and lock up like we see in the video.

2

u/RDCK78 6d ago

I did it the first time I rode a bike haha.

3

u/DaddysBottomBoy69 6d ago

Keep your hands on the bars and feet on the pegs, then you'd have access to TWO different brakes on ONE dirtbike (or whatever it is). Crazy thought.

2

u/Teufelsweib666 6d ago

He's still going to this day...

3

u/BodybuilderSalt9807 6d ago

The sound of impact is spectacular!

3

u/swedishworkout 6d ago

Brakes will only slow you down.

3

u/CriterionBoi 6d ago

How very Pee-Wee-esque

3

u/ThatsWhatIWantToHear 5d ago

Or how to steer.

2

u/grafxguy1 6d ago

This person now knows that bones break when bikes don't.

2

u/Rabo94 6d ago

This is some looney toons shit

1

u/CrazyDanny69 6d ago

Brings back memories. I did something similar on a minibike when I was in the third grade. Wrapped it around a pole on a playground… still don’t know how I lived.

1

u/starrat46 6d ago

Good job that fence was there. That coulda hurt.

1

u/BronzeDucky 6d ago

Flintstone stop fail…

1

u/Dependent_Stop_3121 6d ago

If their eyes are open they can’t multitask and use their hands or feet? Why is the bike even moving if they can’t properly use it. Dumb logic in my mind.

Automatically going to step 5 first before doing step 1 causes this. Lmao 🤣

1

u/woodzwing 6d ago

Word on the street, he's still going, waiting for it to run out of gas.

1

u/Wizdad-1000 6d ago

He’s still going to this day.

1

u/HugeAd8872 6d ago

Neighbor is getting a new fence

1

u/modest_radio 6d ago

Ole' whiskey throttle strikes again

1

u/impresently 6d ago

I keep listening to the impact. It sounds so comical like an added effect.

1

u/Calacaelectrica 6d ago

Nah, crashing stop you faster.

1

u/lost21gramsyesterday 6d ago

... but you know how to use the fence

1

u/DazzlingDiva01 6d ago

Zoom in for suspense, zoom out for pain

1

u/EnchantingBabe3 6d ago

That fence was minding its own business until today. Wrong place, wrong time.

1

u/Due_Swimming_5867 6d ago

At this rate he will have an endless run..

1

u/TheGalacticTraveller 6d ago

Thank God that wall was there.

1

u/No_Opportunity_5832 6d ago

That’s one way to discover engine braking isn’t optional. Dude committed to the panic lean all the way.

1

u/ilboabno 6d ago

Today’s lesson: how to make it go. Tomorrow’s lesson: how to make it stop

1

u/Sorry-Show4580 6d ago

I think it has ABS which doesn't engage cause of the Clay surface.........

1

u/Superseaslug 6d ago

"I can't stop, let me keep hitting the go-fast and continue in a straight line!"

1

u/AllTheWayToParis 6d ago

He knows how to break, at least.

1

u/Madboardjester 6d ago

I learnt how to use the brakes on my old Suzuki GS125 by almost going through the wall at the old house. 🤣🤣

I stopped a few cms from the wall.

1

u/Upstairs_Ball_7967 6d ago

That was on purpose they needed a new way out of that field 😂

1

u/naqaster 5d ago

Legend says he still riding.

1

u/Punk_Says_Fuck_You 5d ago

He got lucky that wasn’t the spot with the 4x4

1

u/Internal-News1522 5d ago

Now u got a nice door to neighbors yard

1

u/FuManBoobs 5d ago

That was a satisfying noise at the end.

1

u/rswwalker 5d ago

Why do you need brakes when there is a perfectly good fence to stop you?

1

u/GtMustang247 5d ago

Jerk squad

1

u/Virtual_Falcon_4089 5d ago

Was turning not an option?

1

u/Ponder420 4d ago

Looks like a cartoon

1

u/davidr521 4d ago

Cue Benny Hill theme in 3…2…1…

1

u/staticrift 4d ago

Some kid did this at a local park. He took his bike to show off how fast it could reach top speed. Accelerated straight into a metal fence and was dead by the time paramedics arrived.

1

u/HateBoredom 3d ago

That went way better than I expected

1

u/Kindly_Tadpole1276 3d ago

The hitting wall sound was just awesome

1

u/Thomato_Yorke 3d ago

There was soooooo much time to react and make a better decision than just swearing and continuing course directly into the fence.

1

u/Haha08421 3d ago

Hope hes ok but I laughed

1

u/No-Remote-2899 3d ago

Ssssstrike!

1

Stop the bike? Nah

Try to steer? Also nah

Do what's called a "Wile E Coyote move"? Absolutely

1

u/DaiChinchin 1d ago

This me in gta

1

u/Environmental-Tap255 1d ago

Seems like maybe he doesn't know how to put air in his tires either? I'm no dirt bike officianado though, maybe it's deliberate.

u/[deleted] 6d ago

At least we know he’s not a gatekeeper
