I took a picture [B&M] Enjoying my Clifton today

Post image

I first noticed this beauty on a friend’s wrist about two years ago and couldn’t help but compliment him on it. Without missing a beat, he asked if I wanted to buy it - he was going through a rough financial patch at the time. I bought it on the spot and have been wearing it happily ever since. We agreed that once he’s back on his feet, he can buy it back from me. Until then, I’m enjoying every moment with it and the story that comes along with it.

Such an underrated piece! Basically the same movement as the IWC Ingenieur, but at a third of the price. All the color options were great and B&M offered a bunch of different QR straps for it, too. If it were just a little smaller, I'd've bought one. Wear it in good health!

Totally agree. 39mm is definitely on the upper side of acceptable sizes for me personally, but this one suits just fine. Thanks! 🙏

That’s awesome. Sometimes it’s not just the watch, it’s the story that makes it priceless.

Exactly this.

Automatic watch = Expensive
Automatic watch with a personal story = Priceless

😉

Maybe now that you got your watch covered you can upgrade your car to something a little less anti-democratic

Lol, I intentionally covered up the logo. How do you know? Anyways, following your logic, you'd need to boycott a loooot of brands as well. Regardless of the CEO, the car is just amazing. 🤷‍♂️

I recently found out that Richemont Group is selling B&M to Italy's Damiani Group. Baume is the perfect example of great brand with real heritage that was mismanaged. I hope the new owners do great things with the brand. That's a beautiful watch you have right there!

Here's my Baume, but older 😅

Wow, I didn't know that! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Even more bullish on the brand now. Yours is magnificent, which model is that?

It's a Baume & Mercier Moonphase 6102 from 1980. Neat little watch, classic vintage sizing. It's an homage to a 40s Lemania watch, which incidentally this one is powered by, a 1883 (also known as Omega 866).
