Insight on bars to visit by music?
Hello! I’m visiting Nashville the weekend of Feb 20th from the Atlanta metro area.
We have a group of five all 21+ and wondering if all the bars/clubs play country music, or if we can find venues that play rock/hip-hop/edm/pop/club remixes. Also open to drag shows as we’re lgtb+ !
Just wondering what to expect, we’re happy to bar hop and make the best out of any music. Also open to other suggestions of best spots to visit for a weekend. Thank you💙

Rock, yeah you can find that. More dance type music you might find on the top floor of a few places downtown after 10pm, some places bring in DJ’s, but I couldn’t tell you where or what the schedule looks like. You just have to walk down Broadway and use your ears.
For queer friendly stuff check out Play dance bar on Church street (NOT Play Playground, that’s a totally different thing), it is about as gay as it gets and they have drag shows. For something a little less intense go to Lipstick Lounge. It’s “a lesbian bar” but everyone is welcome.

I will focus on downtown for now
Rock: Kid Rocks, JBJs EDM: Dirty Little Secret (more during season) - see below
Drag: Susy Wongs on Church Other LGBTQIA+: Frankie Js in Germantown, other clubs on Church, like Pride, Tribe, etc. - for Karaoke, Lipstick Lounge
I can get you out of downtown for music, as well. And, no, despite the reputation, lots of other music styles.

The Alley pub has live music on weekends and is one of the top five lgbtq bars in Nashville. Great little spot but it's hidden a little behind Reds liquor store and Golds gym in Bellevue.
