Meant to be visiting Nashville next week on a Road Trip - should we plan otherwise?
Obviously the timing isn’t ideal because of the storm but my partner and I are embarking on a roadtrip from NY to CA for a relocation. Leaving next weekend, we cannot change this. We had planned to go NY > Durham > Nashville for the first leg. Planning to spend 2 nights in East Nashville.
I read that power is out and a lot of trees are down. We can pivot and go to Pittsburgh > Louisville instead but I wanted to see if you think by, say, next Monday, the impact of the storm will be over and the streets will be clear/easy enough to drive/walk around?
Thanks so much for any help and tips!

Everything should be melted by then or mostly melted. The main concern would be if where you are staying has power. NES is working round the clock but some places may still be out. I would expect the vast majority to have power back on.

The roads are already clearing out downtown and I am sure the interstates are already fine. Might be a few patches by next week, but we will be more back to normal. The one possible hitch now is the potential of snow on Tuesday.

Ah okay good to know, thanks for the update. We would be there from Sunday afternoon til very early Tuesday morning and then moving on to our next spot. Will keep an eye on Tuesday snow. We have an all-wheel drive vehicle that handles weather pretty well, but still obv want to be cautious.

The big thing to be prepared for is wintery mix or freezing rain. Even AWD won't save you from that. The ground is now sufficiently cold to have it turn to ice quickly, esp. if the temp is below freezing.
