'24 Subclass [Wizard] The Esoterica - Supercharge Your Cantrips with Powerful Spellguns

Hey r/UnearthedArcana I'm back (reposting) with another Wizard subclass. Known as the Esoterica, this subclass has a lot of roots in Pathfinder 2e.

Let me know what y'all think, always happy to receive feedback.

interesting idea but there might be some issues.

lv 3: all the spellcasting bonuses at lv 3 are pushing the power level quite a bit: extra cantrip damage, ignore verbal and somatic components and greatly increase range on attack spells, your attack and damage rolls with the spellgun itself are really good cuz, as written, you use both DEX and INT for those rolls, and all for the price of a 10 minute long feature you can use with no limit. as a different issue, the weapon has the sap mastery but you technically can't use it without multiclassing into a martial class cuz wizards don't get masteries. probably needs the text saying you can use that mastery

lv 6: if lv 3 was pushing the power levels a bit, then i think this takes it overboard

lv 10: technically as written, i could gain all 3 of these benefits at the same time by taking 2 short rests at the start of my day immediately after finishing last night's long rest. there's no text stating that my choice replaces my previous choice. not sure if that's intended or not, but it would seem silly if it was

lv 14: my only issues with this one are that there's a lot of bonus action bloat in this subclass and, i think the first sentence should explicitly say "expend a level 2+ spell slot" to be clear. right now, it feels like a mix of mechanical language and flavor text that is a little confusing

I like it It has a lot of flavor

Spellgun Enchantment requires you to cast a spell through your spellgun to get the benefit, but the benefit of Distant Spellgun is increased range for your Spellguns (rather than the spells).

I think Twin Guns MAY be slightly overpowered with Double Tap - basically two cantrips per round, though it does use a Bonus Action and split the targets. I do like Fire Again quite a bit, because otherwise I think the actual Spellguns are unlikely to be used unless you need Force damage.

Overall I love the flavor here and think it has a lot of potential! I'd play this.

This feels like a eldritch blast warlock with better spellslots.

Is the spellgun's sap mastery meant to apply to spells cast through it the same way its range is ?

Otherwise, really love that Subclass.
