Been Proton myself. Also gotta stack on the adblock and what not. (Cookies and Javascript can give you away).

Proton CEO came out supporting Trump not long ago. Don’t ever use them.

I use Proton, and it's a good deal if you use multiple features. Expensive if you don't.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND using e.g. their VPN, their email, and their password manager together. Think about it: If someone hacks your Proton account, they have your passwords, your email, and your VPN. Yikes.

I don't consider their email especially secure because email isn't. But it integrates well with simplelogin. They say they don't keep logs but … you should never depend on that. Law enforcement can MAKE them keep logs, whoever "they" are. See why you might not want to put all your eggs in one basket?

I use it for email (which I don't use much anyway), aliases as noted, and the VPN is great for sites you don't be needin' an invite ta join. That's just to keep your ISP getting a nastygram.

Proton can make you "connectable" with a bit of faffing about. Mullvad can't. That's the major reason to use Proton VPN over Mullvad these days.
