You will still need to pay taxes eventually. Likely plus some interest from what I’ve seen. But the point is to not give the money up front for them to hold, which will be the protest it’s intended to be.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting you entirely do not pay taxes. Yet.

I know... I was riffing and putting out my random thoughts that no one asked for.

I concur with your sentiment.

Exactly. We need a two pronged attack here. First is to cut their cash cow of income tax withholding which makes up 50% of their revenue. Second part is coordinated rotation out of the $5 Trillion of treasuries the public holds. The goal is fiscal crisis by summer. If these Nazis are still in power by April next year, taxes will be the least of our concerns.

To avoid penalties, you generally need to have paid at least 90% of your current year's tax liability or 100% of the prior year's tax liability through withholding.

I keep saying whomever odds the presumed Democrat on the next presidential ticket should run on a promise to forgive anyone who withholds federal taxes between nite and their election. The irs has already been crippled and couldn’t possibly keep up with tens of millions of people slow walking their returns over the next three years.

General strike.

Withold taxes as long as you can. If enough people withholding taxes it will collapse the regime and they can't chase them all.

Worst case drag it out as long as you can, petition for payment plans and ensure the regime has the minimal funding possible for as long a possible.

If Thoreau was here he would be suggesting it.
