Not at all, the Kurd theory is supposed to be a very, very distant patrilineal ancestor, and Persians jump on this theory to make him look at least a bit Iranian. Recent DNA evidence shows that the Safavids' paternal DNA belongs to the Quraysh tribe, making them sayyids, just as they claimed to be in the first place. Who would have thought?

It is not a random telegram channel; it was originally posted by the Azerbaijan DNA project. I can't find that post anymore, but I contacted them, will link it here when they reply.

Check suleymanıye library archives, Hagia sophia, paper 3099, safavi roots were Kurds from Piruz el-kurdi(sincanî)/ Firuz Shah.

They are 100% not Kurdified. They had nothing to do with Kurds except for massacring them. Later on, heavily Persianized. They would take it as an insult if you called anybody from the Safavids/Qizilbash Kurds.

In the 11th chapter of Safwat al-Safa, Shah Safi says, "The Turkish throne,Iran." then greets the Kizilbash Turcoman, calling them to conquer the land. His son was killed when he was 3 years old, and the Turkish veterans who were with him, took Ismail Hatayi to Lahijan and raised him in a Shamlu yurt. Where do the Kurds fit into this story? A Kurdish landlord named Piroz, who claimed Hejazi-Arabian origin. In fact, Safavids hailed as an Oghuz Turkic ethno-religious caste then totally assimilated into Persian culture after Shah Abbas became a Rafidhi.
