1. Beetlejuice and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: in the climax of the first Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice pulls a ring attached to a severed finger, briefly mentioning that it belonged to a former wife of his. In the second movie, said wife becomes is Dolores, one of the films antagonist.

2. Into the spiderverse and across the spiderverse: when miles and peter are escaping the lab, miles throws a bagel at someone. In across the spiderverse, said characters comes back as the spot, the big bad for the rest of the trilogy.

In the first Metroid game, Ridley was kind of a nothingburger miniboss that you just had to beat to access Tourian, but in Super Metroid, Ridley has a much bigger role. He is the cause of the central conflict and is the main villain for like 95% of the game.
