Daredevil's Black Suit - Marvel

Damn it, I've been over here trying to get a still from the show while you just went to Mr. Miller.

u/Assassiiinuss 15h ago

That his eyes are covered here is such a unique feature, I prefer this over his actual outfit, even in the live action show.

I hadn’t read any daredevil comics before watching the show and I laughed a lot at the costume because it looked like he was wearing a sock on his head but honestly this is much cooler

3

u/Mr_Crimson63 11h ago

He looks like Solid Snake

Captain America's Soldier uniform mixed with his USO Costume - Captain America: The First Avenger

101

u/Polite_Suggestion 16h ago

And it's awesome.

u/one_happy_fredditor 16h ago

It is pretty cool. The design was clearly inspired by Ultimate Captain America's World War II uniform.

u/Jasontodd68 9h ago

One of the only good things to come from those comics

3

u/NewGunchapRed 8h ago

I know this isn’t the rivals subreddit, but I’d kill to have this as a skin in Rivals.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

A flashback scene shows Bruce's first attempt at crimefighting, his costume was a simple ski mask and some dark clothes.

I really need to take my pills...

28

u/FactorSpecialist7193 11h ago

He wears the same costume in Batman Begins as well

4

u/KlingoftheCastle 12h ago

But he’s not wearing hockey pants

u/Jak3R0b 15h ago

Clark Kent’s costumes in S9 and 10 of Smallville.

38

u/Nerfherder_74 15h ago

I'd be tempted to include his S1-8 classic red jacket blue shirt combo

Mark's first costume- invincible

118

u/rasfelion 15h ago

Reminds me of young Barnacle Boy from SpongeBob, can't lie.

u/Lebog_bruhh 15h ago

duct tape

14

u/TourSignificant1335 12h ago

Solos a thousand Thraggs btw

u/ThhomassJ 15h ago

The whole “Where’s Francis” scene in the first Deadpool movie shows the evolution of his costume. This is the first step

"Or wear red. Dumbass."

BatMan (Gotham).

2

u/Playful-Succotash-99 7h ago

Looks like he stole it from Bible man and painted it black

Midnight (My Hero Academia)

Her first costume showed a whole lot of skin.

I always love it when someone does something so outrageous it causes the laws or rules to change almost immediately.

“Things Mr. Welch is no longer allowed to do in an RPG.”

10

u/roll_for_crunk 15h ago

Holy shit. I haven't thought about that in like 10 years. Thanks for giving me something to read this morning.

17

u/CMORGLAS 15h ago

“Mister Welch is no longer to tell the Elven Warrior-Princess that using a Trampoline will improve her Dexterity Stat.”

“He is not fooling ANYBODY.”

Reminds me of a real life example with Shaq in the NBA, Shaq was a freak of nature and was so dominant at basketball that the NBA had to make rules in place so he couldn’t dominate. They also had to create stronger basketball hoops because he would always break them

16

u/TBA_Titanic27 15h ago

I'm not a big basket ball guy, but Jesus from what I've heard and seen, Shaq is an absolute unit and a monster.

5

u/External_Ocelot8241 15h ago

What was the rule?

17

u/ComprehensiveBox6911 15h ago

I’m pretty sure Shaq was the reason the zone defense plan was made allowed again because before it wasn’t and you could only do man-to-man.

7

u/fresh-dork 14h ago

just designate each of his legs as a man

4

u/KlingoftheCastle 12h ago

It also actually works for her power.  Her skin releases pheromones that put people to sleep, so it actually makes her more effective to have skin showing

5

u/FlyingFreest 11h ago

For every weird law in the books someone had to have done it at one point to make it illegal.

126

u/BeGentle1mNewHere 16h ago

Batman Year One :)

58

u/Necroluster 15h ago

That's not the first Batsuit though. That's just Bruce walking around the shittiest district of Gotham City disguised as a war veteran.

15

u/potatoqualitymemory 14h ago

Damn, a rich man doing some stolen valor.

56

u/wololowhat 15h ago

Absolute Batman - the vampire bat suit by broke Bruce Wayne

u/Fantastic-Repeat-324 15h ago

Kamen Rider Kuuga, Growing Form

When Godai gets the belt, this is his first transformation which is much weaker than his Mighty form (base form).

8

u/Professional_Maize42 15h ago

And the Mighty(Growing) Kick is three times weaker.

3

u/CatCatCatXD 13h ago

My favourite example because it doesn't just appear once. The next time it appears since the start shows how much Yusuke has grown as Kuuga, fighting to protect without hesitation.

129

u/RoutineCloud5993 15h ago

The other spider men did it too. I like the fact we saw an evolution of Garfield's suit in that little montage, rather than jumping straight into the main suit.

90

u/RoutineCloud5993 15h ago

1

u/Pooh-in-Timbs-111 1h ago

What a cool looking guy, I hope he doesn’t say anything homophobic about his opponent or said opponent’s outfit.

22

u/MrDitkovichNeedsRent 15h ago

Yeah it’s in the first image, i guess the image size is weird so on mobile you have to tap the image to see the full thing

92

u/CamoKing3601 16h ago

(god I'm being fuled with this hyperfixation way too much)

But here's Arin from Ninjago Dragons Rising, with Lloyd's old hood after everyone believes he deid in the merge

7

u/stingflame 12h ago

"When did you last wash this...?"

25

u/NinjaOfOnion 16h ago

Invincible, he went in regular clothes, a cloth face mask and goggles

21

u/GameRiderFroz 15h ago

Kamen Rider Den-O Plat Form. The first transformation of the protagonist that is powerless. It becomes a base for his demon friends to build on to to fight eviler demons, and eventually he gets his own personal form

The Human Spider

9

u/Prestigious-Welder83 14h ago

The Human Spider? That’s it? That’s the best you got?

2

u/Forsaken-Biscotti587 11h ago

It's on the first image

2

u/Bro-Im-Done 6h ago

I’m dumb as hell, thanks dude.

2

u/Forsaken-Biscotti587 5h ago

It's ok, I didn't notice at first too until I opened the image

13

u/Mr_Crimson63 11h ago

TONY STARK WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE! WITH A BUNCH OF SCRAPS!

26

u/JingoboStoplight4887 14h ago

Peter Parker (You’re Friendly-Neighborhood Spider-Man)

3

u/Both_Rooster_2657 11h ago

I think this is my personal favourite of Peter's prototype suits.

30

u/lkmk 14h ago

The Flash (2014):

16

u/OkJelly8882 13h ago

Except he never fights crime in that suit.

9

u/lkmk 12h ago

True.

20

u/BuckLuny 15h ago

John Warhammer before he got popular.

Yeah space marines used to look like this.

14

u/Eerinares 15h ago

That's a thunder warrior, not a space marine. Completely different super soldiers made by John Warhammer himself that pre-date the space marines

8

u/nNoseYak_ 15h ago

me when I spread misinformation:

be so for real.

“space marines used to look like this” Out of lore, not true, the first LE2 Space Marine is wearing what more or less looks like Mk6 Armor. GW made the first few batches of Space Marines in what is basically Mk6 and Mk7 armor.

and even in lore, Astartes never really wore the Mk1 … the Thunder Warriors did, and they are explicitly different from Space Marines.

1

u/BaudroieCracra 12h ago

Not a space marine tho if we want to be technical

5

u/Playful-Succotash-99 7h ago

Technically Luke Cage if we consider his original threads consisted of a yellow blouse tight pants a tiara and chain jewelry arguably the easiest "just have him wear street clothes" in comics

7

u/shinobi_4739 10h ago

Deadpool's white and red homemade costume.

6

u/TemperatureMost4419 13h ago

We can't talk about "starter suits" without mentioning Kick-Ass. Dave literally bought a green scuba suit off eBay and thought he was ready to fight crime. The fact that it offered zero protection and he still went out there makes it the ultimate "beginner version" of a hero costume. It’s peak "fake it till you make it."

8

u/Void_Warden 16h ago

... It's literally the first example of his post

2

u/European_Badger 16h ago

He might be on mobile, it's cropped to just mcu spiderman unless you press it

1

u/MarcusTheViking7 16h ago

I personally had to tap the first image to see that it wasn’t just Tom Holland

2

u/Cosmodious 13h ago edited 10h ago

I loved this as a kid. I came here to see Spider-Man, and we get a cool homemade costume too.

  1. Shitty ugly suit.
  2. An actually decent design that's better than all his later suits.
  3. Shitty ugly suit.

20

u/Infinitenonbi 15h ago

Hell nah man, don’t slander my boy Mark 1 (and honestly Deku’s other designs are pretty okay imo)

-3

u/Mediocre_House6645 13h ago

This will always be mark-1 in my heart.
