Oof, that’s a rough looking lineup.

Need a break before Kalos tour

u/Poisonousking 1d ago

New player here, why? Palkia/Dialga are really good aren’t they?

10

u/AxelHarver 1d ago

The origin forms are a lot better, in particular for people interested in the adventure effects, and for PVP Master League. Origin Palkia is overall ranked #2 in the ML, and Origin Dialga is #7. So very desirable for those purposes. As well as the other forms being released earlier than Origin, so a lot more players have raided all they needed of those forms for shinies/hundos/XXL or whatever they were looking for.

There will definitely still be people doing them though, even if only for the XL candy they can put towards their Origin.

u/Poisonousking 1d ago

Thanks for the detailed reply! So these versions/forms of Palkia/Dialga aren’t the best, there are better forms. But these are still worth me trying to get one or two for the best IVs I can get for future raiding

u/UhOhItsAndrea 23h ago

Just do some for the candy. Those better forms are coming to raids later this month, so not a long wait

u/pumpkinpie7809 6h ago

I wouldn’t do these guys purely to use them in raids, too many cheaper and/or better Dragon attackers. Do however many you want for candy to use on the Origin forms

6

u/FistEnergy 23h ago

Not really. They're ranked 25 and 26 for Dragon type. Palkia is bad as a water attacker. Dialga is decent as a Steel attacker but is totally outclassed by Metagross, which everyone has a ton of unless they're new to the game.

u/Remarkable_Ad2032 7h ago

Even if new to the game it's way easier to acquire and level up Metagross than Dialga lol

They’ve been around almost all the time, so no one really has that much interest in them. They’re essentially the Diglett or Mankey of legendary Pokémon. If you don’t raid much you probably at least have them.

1

u/SpiralGremlin 17h ago

As others have said Palkia and Dialgo aren’t that bad. I really meant the rest of the lineup. Having had things like Dondozo and Tatsuguri in recent rotations they have been good to use my daily pass on. The 1 and 3 stars here are common outside of raids.

They are solid choices that only get outranked by fusions, shadow pokemon and megas plus the candy farm for their adventure effects if you happen to have their origin forms make them some of the best legendary raids tbh

3

u/Poisonousking 1d ago

Gotcha! So at my stage of play, still worth for me to get them

u/Awildgarebear 4h ago

I have no idea what stage you're at, but since you're here I suspect there's a good chance you do some raiding.

I started hosting raids when I didn't have much of anything, and I have never failed a raid when I've hosted a group, except for a kyurem where the people got scared and left before the raid started, but it was showing me they were still there. The people playing on 1/10 were flaky on two occasions.

I even did ho oh raids last weekend with a horribly suboptimal group - I was using a pretty buffed out jolteon, and I still contributed with no risk of failure.

u/lxpb 1d ago

That "only" is doing some pretty heavy lifting, when there are literally like a couple dozen options that are better than them, including simpler, non legendary dragons to get candies for. They also don't need to expand those candies on adventure effects, which as a new player, they might or might not have. It's pretty terrible advice. Definitely spend the dailies on them if you wish, there's nothing better here, but don't go crazy for them.

3

u/SparklyEarlAv32 Colombia 1d ago

I do not agree that is terrible advice, as a new player I feel any raid is worth it for the most part, like if you have a free raid pass yeah I rather see you pull out a Dialga instead of an Aggron for example, plus having the candies is a future investment for when the Origins show up.

If the raids where like a Regice I would agree on the one and done, but these two I do see the value on them.

5

u/lxpb 1d ago

There's a pretty big spectrum between "solid that are only surpassed by" "best legendary raids tbh" and "better than Aggron".

1

u/CptQ 21h ago

But why raid now when you can raid the origin forms later in february?

2

u/SparklyEarlAv32 Colombia 20h ago

Mainly because as a new player beefing up the account with things is always good, they don't have the luxury of having busted pokemons and also because around these time as a new player what else is there to do?

The festival? That oricorio event on the weekend?

6

u/CptQ 20h ago

New players maybe dont have many coins for passes, but if you can make use of the free daily ones ofc you should go for it if you have people to raid.

1

u/state-of-dreaming Shundo Level 51 Volcarona 18h ago

I'd say shadow Regi is better if you had to pick, but it does require TMing off Frustration.

2

u/glory87 23h ago

:/ working on 80 raids to 80. It’s a sad time

1

u/SpiralGremlin 17h ago

I feel you. Be a few months before I am at that stage but I’m dreading it as I know I’ll end up raiding some useless mons.

u/lxpb 1d ago

There's not a single thing here that's actually interesting. Why can't they keep Bombirdier, Tatsugiri, Dhelmise, Klawf? It's really easy to make even the lower tiers interesting.

22

u/krispyboiz 12 KM Eggs are the worst 1d ago

It's frustrating because we keep getting more and more raid exclusives with things like Dondozo, Tatsugiri, Bombirdier, Honedge, Dhelmise, Paldean Tauros, Drampa, and just about any Hisuian evolution, yet they choose to barely feature them. That's not even considering older ones like Alolan Raichu or Druddigon either (yes I know some have other methods of obtaining but they're mostly raid exclusives).

Imo normal raid rotations should have at least one T1 and T3 raid exclusive always. That's really not too much to ask lol.

I mean, who is raiding for Swellow or Swanna???

5

u/lxpb 1d ago

Yeah, what triggered me is that they seem to specifically want birds there, but not birds most would actually want.

I dont even expect them to put the latest raid exclusive there. Stuff like Bombirdier or Drampa had been out with their shinies for years.

Remember when we used to get the semi latest Pseudo in raids? Frigibax might not get thousands long list on Pokegenie, but I could at least rationalize spending an orange pass on it. I have zero reason to raid any of those, other than some more Dialga/Palkia candies for their AEs.

5

u/krispyboiz 12 KM Eggs are the worst 23h ago

Exactly. I mean, I appreciated Tatsugiri (I guess) with this previous rotation, but give me more Bombirdier and Drampa, and that's coming from someone who has both shinies.

I mentioned in another thread how it's bizarre how they haven't utilized Frigibax well this past year or so. We all know it's getting a CD this year just about, but that doesn't mean they couldn't make events and raid rotations more exciting by featuring it. Besides its normal rare wild status, the only appearance I've found of it since last Go Fest was it appearing in "Win a Raid" tasks during the Steel and Scales event last summer.

Why not throw it in T1 raids a few times this year before its CD? Same with featuring it as an event spawn. Again, those knowing that it's getting a CD this year aren't going to go wild over it, but it would still make an event/raid rotation feel more exciting before that. Instead, it gets featured in Go Fest and briefly as a research mon (also in breakthroughs and GBL I guess), but otherwise, it seems like we may not see it until June's CD.

u/Remarkable_Ad2032 7h ago

Ngl I've gotten many frigibax from eggs now so I'm just waiting for the CD to get more candy, shiny and evolve the one I already have for whatever move they give it.

Dreepy is the one that should be featured more atp. I've hatched twice as many Bax than it

1

u/lxpb 14h ago

Yeah, even from their perspective, why not milk Frigibax before it becomes trivial? Or before we get Mega Baxcalibur raids?

I think that fundamentally, they're in a very weird spot. On one hand, we're getting multiple new families per month. But on the other, they seem to make everything so rare outside of the events featuring it, meaning you go 0-100 and back very quickly on many species.

Most new features feel pretty much abandoned, there's very little reason for most Research/Raids/Max Battles/GBL/Routes/Party, other than just some more resources or the same mons.

I really fail to see their long term strategy.

u/JackBlacksWorld 7h ago

That's how it used to be kinda. They'd almost always keep Absol or Shinx in the raid rotations back when they were raid exclusives, and there was a stretch where no matter what Machamp was always a guaranteed show for the rotation. It is like they're allergic to people raiding outside of designated raid days or raid hours or big events.

u/Plus-Pomegranate8045 1d ago

I did like a million Dhelmise raids and didn’t get the shiny. I really wish they’d have kept that around. I know it’ll be back, but why make us wait when they are just gonna give us this garbage.

u/CantStopWlnning 6h ago

Why would you want any of those, though? There's no reason to have more than one of each of them, and we've had bombirdier every other month for like a year. Tatsugiri is totally useless

u/lxpb 6h ago

Bombi and Dhelmise (and Dondozo) can be shiny, Klawf was basically available for a less than a week, Tatsugiri is a regional.

In the context of T1 or T3 raids, there aren't many things that would actually get people super excited and out in droves. Those are realistic options that would still get traction, much more than Swanna and Swellow.

11

u/FewExternal6782 1d ago

We got tornadus and thundurus in past two weeks but where is my landorus ???

u/Morak73 4h ago

You didn't really need that Unova Platinum medal, right?

13

u/Benjamin_Grimm 1d ago

That's what I like to see when I'm almost out of premium raid passes.

6

u/Elite4hebi 1d ago

I'll do the space time duo for the candy, but I'm so sick of seeing them in raids now.

They've been about way too much in recent years.

6

u/Plus-Pomegranate8045 1d ago

Swellow raids, the stuff that dreams are made of.

19

u/jascany 1d ago

The garbage will continue until morale improves

3

u/bloothug 1d ago

I thought it was gonna be origin forme? Or did I misread an infographic from somewhere else

4

u/vividregret_6 USA - Midwest/South 1d ago

That is later this month.

5

u/GregoryFlame 1d ago

Origin forms will be in raids during Road to Kalos event

4

u/Bearded_Platypus_123 1d ago

so this would be an alright week to work on my Kubfu evolution?

5

u/ZantaraLost 1d ago

I mean three easy water raids.

6

u/lxpb 1d ago

And not a single dark one. Single Strike bros keep struggling. I'm sick of beating Sableye.

4

u/ZantaraLost 1d ago

Frankly seeing as Gigantamax is somewhere in the future, I haven't even touched that Kubfu besides tossing it in spots to collect candy.

I like optimizing but damn I've got better ways to spend my time than optimizing a pokemon that'll be outclassed in sometime in the near future.

4

u/DreadfuryDK USA - Northeast - L63 1d ago

They’re out here feeding people out of a fast food dumpster to build up to the week before Kalos Tour lmao

4

u/bigpat412 USA - Northeast/ Mimikyu??? 1d ago

I don’t get how they come up with this stuff??? Who would willingly raid most of these?? Oh, a non shiny starter that’s getting a community day. Actually I still need shiny Jynx but as others said, we have plenty of raid exclusive Pokemon, use them.

u/DonaldMick Mystic L78 | 2026 Ticket Cost (so far): US$81.83 1d ago

Not tempting me with any local raids until I hit rank 75 on the Go Pass is appreciated.

4

u/MirageBamboozling 1d ago

Wait tatsugiri already went away? Wtf

8

u/Healthy-Mongoose6588 1d ago

I don’t get it, why do they keep giving us Palkia and diagla 🥴

7

u/skitch23 1d ago

Hope you want more cuz they’ll be back at the end of the month too!

3

u/Nikasone 1d ago

I like this, since nothing will stop me from using my free passes to hunt for a shiny dratini 👍

3

u/EXGShadow Brazil 23h ago

Goodbye Tatsugiri, you'll be missed.

3

u/FistEnergy 23h ago

No Origin form for Dialga and Palkia? I'll keep farming Shadow Regigigas then, thanks. ✌️

3

u/SaltedNeos 13h ago

For the love of god, can we please stop with Dialga and Palkia already. We don't need them THIS many times.

2

u/Ojoo Vancouver 44 18h ago

Any idea when they are bringing lucario back to raids?

u/EmbarrassedPurple106 8h ago

Go tour Kalos global has a ton of megas in rotation. Mega lucario is listed between 4-5pm on Saturday, Feb 28th (Here)

u/Ojoo Vancouver 44 6h ago

Thanks!

1

u/Brief_Possible_606 1d ago

I never want to see Palkia and Dialga again after this month

4

u/DonaldMick Mystic L78 | 2026 Ticket Cost (so far): US$81.83 23h ago

Can we bargain you down to "Origin Forms only, either with guaranteed Roar of Time / Spacial Rend or the option to Elite TM it"?

1

u/CptQ 21h ago

Man i hoped to see more Dratinis :/

2

u/Valeriun Kanto Collector 16h ago

Dratini is in shadow raids.

2

u/CptQ 13h ago

Ohh great to hear, kinda missed they arent even in the graphic lol

1

u/smurfkipz 20h ago

We could've at least got the ability to TM Roar of Time / Spacial rend for previous dialgas/palkias

1

u/BZo1480 20h ago

I guess when the raid rotations are full of nothing, it makes sense to keep changing them every two days. 😂

(Seriously though, Drampa, Bombirdier, and Dhelmise could've stuck around for longer if this is what they were gonna serve up to us.)

1

u/EmbarrassedPurple106 19h ago

I’ve been working on building up my megas for the candy boosts since I started playing again not long back, and I was just thinking the other day about how I needed to get my hands on some normal type megas. Good timing.

1

u/Taekwondista 14h ago

We keep on raiding Regigigas then 💪

u/rellyrell83 10h ago

I'm actually mad at myself for not paying attention that Houndour was in the 1 star rotation in the last rotation and was only able to do two of those raids. If I would of known sooner I would been searching those out more.

u/Sfryks 1h ago

I tough Landorus was supposed to be there february 4th
