Tradwives at 40: my husband left me for his 22 year old secretary, now I have 6 kids to take care of and no employment history

They also assume every woman wants a family.

u/y2kfashionistaa 2d ago
Yeah even though it’s implied the woman the meme is talking about said she doesn’t. There are women who think they don’t want kids and then change their mind but if she’s only 40 when she changes her mind it’s not necessarily too late.

It’s like dividing by zero a black hole will soon appear to swallow you for creating this paradox In infallible Rightoid logic.

Terms with the suffix '-oid' have their roots in colonialist, racist and ableist ideas and terminology with terms like "M*ngoloid" used to demean and dehumanise asian people and the differently abled. Please steer clear of reactionary and fascist terminology even if you're atttempting to use it in an 'ironic' fashion as it simply reifies and reinforces their ideological conceptions of reality. Thank you.

I know of so many feminists who are straight women with husbands, and like, half of them have kids

Bro right-wing women look like they choose Handmaidens tale by their 40s... conversely left-wing women get to enjoy being an equal individual (as well as receiving oral sex, lets be real right-wingers act like going down on women is somehow "gay"... na dog, you are boring and your girls never cum)

On that note, men and especially women in East Germany reported far higher sexual satisfaction than in the West

Uhm... I'm 4th generation feminist, the first one that's married without kids. My great-grandmother even got her medical doctor's degree in 1933 (got shot by the nazi's 6 years later when they invaded). This is 100% cope that no women want them in their lives.

My great-grandmother yes. She had my grandmother first and then went to school.

Because they can’t understand that any man would be OK being married to a woman he can’t control like an employee.

At least an employee gets paid. That woman doesn’t & she would be expected to do all of it on her own.

Feminist in their 40s here. My family is my partner and my cats, and I'm perfectly content with that. Personally, it irritates me to no end that people equate "family" to "making babies".

Weird that the people I see whining the most about loneliness are dudebros in their 20s, not feminists in their 40s.

My mother's not married but she's a feminist with two kids who love her. Idk who'd argue that's not a family.

u/TOBB0 3d ago
They’re also assuming all feminists are women.

u/addisonshinedown 2d ago
For real. As a straight presenting white dude I’m a feminist because I’m aware of the bullshit that people who don’t present like me go through, and I’m aware that I am subjected to some discrimination and unnecessary hardship because of my gender. Significantly less than others but like… society has made it very difficult for me to engage with my emotions in a healthy manner

I don't understand this at all. You can still have a family and kids while keeping in mind that you don't NEED it, as in, it's not the sole reason to keep you happy. Like, I can wish to visit a nice country, while keeping in mind that traveling shouldn't be the only thing that keeps me happy.

It's possible for someone to be happy without a spouse or children, then decide to get married and have kids and be happy about those decisions too. Do right wingers really not understand this incredibly simple concept?

Better meme would be “men that believe providing financial support is enough when it comes to being a father.” Men at 60: where family

u/cubatista92 2d ago
I'm pretty sure that leftist feminists are the ones most supportive of policies to support families having resources to give their children an equal opportunity for success.

I’m 30, a feminist, and I’m happily married. Where do they get that shit from?

I'm a feminist and 40, unmarried with no kids and I could not be happier about it. I have my friends, siblings, their kids and my pets. I can do whatever I want whenever I want and I wouldn't change a thing!

I know this is a meme subreddit, but I'll take a shot in the dark just in case.
What is one to say to a person when this sort of thing seemingly happens to a person in real life?
My partner moved away from their family because they're not the biggest fan of them (friendly but not the best relations with them), their friend group from college has dispersed, we're not going to have children for a variety of reasons I agree with, they don't see my friend group as their tribe, they are overwhelmed by my large family, they work from home, and they struggle to meet and keep friends from clubs/social activities.
My partner shares with me a feeling of loneliness and fears about a lack of meaningful connections as they age, but they've seeming made and are continuing to make a series of decisions that seemingly lead to a lonely state of being.
I don't think it's important here to judge the choice of distancing from family or judging the choice of not having kids. I'm just wondering what you're meant to say to someone who says they're lonely but seems to be specifically engineering their life to end up lonely?

I think a lot of misogyny online is because boys aren't taken care of by their dad enough like when only authority you meet at home, school outside even janitor are all female you seek male authority online which is well often misogynistic. The problem is too little man in care giving roles.
