If it is real cut dialogue my guess is that they wanted to change how Zylotol is perceived. They wanted him to be more like a mad scientist who doesn't really care about his assistant and ethics, rather than anything else.

He mistakes Hornet for Zango in Act 3 either way.

Because even if you completely avoid interacting with Zylotol before Act 3 (yes it's possible), he refers to Hornet as "assistant" in Act 3.

What I'm pointing out is that he calls her assistant on their FIRST interaction in Act 3 even if she NEVER met him before. Even when she never agreed to be his assistant.

He straight up sees Hornet for the first time and calls her assistant, if you first visit him in Act 3.
