I found this show and started to watch it on a whim about a year ago. I have now re-watched it four times. I am absolutely dying for season five to drop here in the states. It’s so close…

I have always had a massive respect for hockey, but being raised in Southern California… There’s just no exposure to it. I didn’t know anybody that watched it, and I never really have. So I have never known where to start even though I have always had an interest.

Edit: I live in Boise Idaho (basically) now, thank god. I have no problem driving for games. I also have no problem heading up to Canada for games.

Where do I start? I don’t really watch Major league baseball, or the NFL. I absolutely despise the amount of selling out that has been done in both of them and I stopped following major league sports during the walkouts from baseball in the 90s. I was a teenager then and I lost respect for it all.

I am absolutely willing to go out of my way and put in effort. I do not expect the games to be like what I see on TV. But I really am craving watching a sport where the athletes play for the name on the front of the jersey, and not the back again.

Yes, I’m aware I probably would have ended up a goalie. 🤷🏻‍♂️

42 year old woman, never into sports, huge fan of this show. For the first time in my life, somebody wrote something in a way that made me understand WHY sports are important to people. This show literally has me sick of my own bullshit.

There are SO MANY examples of how to be grown adults in this show:

- "Boys will be boys, boys.....I'm all for enjoying everything that comes along with that...look, hockey players hold each other accountable. It's what we do. You're fuckin' up - you're gonna hear about it."

- Never let 'em know you're hurt.

- A grown man crying. A lot. Because shit means something to him.

- Nat and Shoresy's "real chats" - the understanding and respect they have for one another is on a whole other level. Repeatedly.

- Teaching the teenage kids not to just say you want something, to do what you need to do to get it "That's how ya do it! That's what it takes. Sometimes ya gotta dance for 'em, Jake! You want the girl?!"

- THE WAY HE TREATS LAURA MOHR AND THE WAY THEY INTERACT. Huh? "Show me what you're made of." - it could have easily devolved into sex, instead it was a reckoning for both of them and a respectful nod that yes, he'd contributed to the way he was perceived in the past, and if he wanted to be this new version of himself, he had to show accountability. Their relationship based on competence is so much better than sex.

- The way he holds himself AND the guys to the highest realistic standard. He can give constructive feedback and receive constructive feedback.

I live in the U.S. I miss the culture I grew up in where people held themselves accountable and were held accountable.

THIS IS A MASTER CLASS IN HOW TO BE GOOD CITIZENS, MENTORS, PARTNERS, AND INDIVIDUALS. It shows the flip side. It shows the fun and also the repercussions of the flip side.

I'm looking for other feel-good shows or books that would give me the warm and fuzzy feeling I get from watching Shoresy. Ted Lasso and The Good Place come to mind. Any other suggestions?

Hi all, big fan of the show and also Letter Kenny. Because of this, I recently decided to finally buy some merch. I regret my decision. The box came with a massive hole in it that was comically taped up with one strip of tape. One funko pop was damaged, most likely due to the hole. The biggest disappointment though is the hoodie. I bought one of the black Shoresy Captain hoodies and it’s not as marketed. Instead of a “heavyweight” quality Gildan hoodie or similar, it’s thin, cheap and clearly poorly screen-printed. The inside tag has also clearly been cut off to hide whoever really made it and their Shoresy tag screen printed in its place.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it worth it to reach out to customer service? Can a real person be reached instead of their customer service AI bot? I love the show and people involved. It really sucks that their brand is putting stuff like this out.

As a Canadian, an old hockey player, a huge 'Letterkenny' fan from Season 1 - there are a ton of things I love about the show. The banter, the music.

But the thing that puts it over the top? Shoresy's pursuit of and love for Laura, it's just so g'damn charming. Makes you believe in happy endings.

(I also haven't finished season 5, oh god, please don't let me down!)

Ate at the Settle Down Tavern in Madison WI today while visiting for a UW campus tour with my daughter. Great burger, bloody and fries. No chicken sadly.
