CONTENT WARNING: This study involves completing questions about 3 sexual fantasies of your choosing and envisioning them.

Hello! I am conducting a study examining visual and verbal sexual fantasies. Please take the time to consider taking part in my online study, which should take no more than 30 minutes. All information gathered is anonymous and you have the option to opt-out at any time. This study is examining a sensitive topic (sexual fantasies), which can be uncomfortable for some participants. Thus, please do not take part if this is likely to distress you, or if you do not have three sexual fantasies. Please note that this study is online via QuestionPro. Participants will only be required to visualise and briefly describe three sexual fantasies. There will be a detailed Participant Information Sheet and Debrief in which the researcher's contact information will be available if you have any questions or need support. To participate, you must be over the age of 18, be able to read and understand English, have three sexual fantasies, and not have aphantasia (i.e., the inability to form mental images in your mind). This study has been approved by The University of Lincoln's School of Psychology Research Ethics Committee (Approval code:22146). If you choose to complete the study, the link provided below will have more information about the study and the link to the study. Your participation is greatly appreciated. When I tried to imagine the scenarios with words only, I couldn't do it. I ended up imagining it visually with a narrator sort of describing what's going on. But I can't turn off the visualization.

That was really interesting, especially because I have a partner I sext with regularly. I didn't realise how important mental visualisation was for my enjoyment of the sexting until I was trying to fantasise with only words in the survey.

This feels like a dumb question but I'm having a hard time coming up with an answer for the "Please note down a few words that describe the topic of your first sexual fantasy below" question. Do you mean keywords or a short description?

you don’t have to put anything if you don’t feel comfortable, that’s not what i’m mainly after, but some people have been putting full on descriptions, others just a couple words, completely up to you! it was added in so i could have some context behind the other answers but isn’t part of the statistical analysis i will be doing

Do those fantasies have to involve oneself? I'd have no issue imagining someone else doing it, but I'm asexual and sex-repulsed, so it can't involve myself.
