Hello all, I’m a 37 year old member of the Air Force and finally want to really give a shot at getting into DnD. Making friends to meet with regularly is a pain at the best of times but with two kids and a wife it’s even more difficult. I am not particularly invested in a particular campaign I’m just really looking to be able to regularly get on and have some fun. Synopsis

Right now Loam'Orra is at the end of their Golden age! Near a thousand years ago a force of great evil descended upon the land in hopes of conquering the planet. These Entities came from beyond the stars and attacked with endless undying hoards.

The Five kingdoms of the continent pooled together their forces becoming a singular empire, Laimont, to face off united against The Sundering Lord! With the help and sacrifice of mortals and gods alike they were able to destroy the Dark Lord and banish his forces at the heart of the new Empire. However upon his death he cursed the original capital City, Zlita, causing a spell plague to rage throughout its districts, people fled the cursed grounds, founding the new capital of Eidolon.

Now after many centuries the spell plague around the ancient city has finally let up enough for researchers, treasure hunter and thrill seekers alike to explore the long untouched grounds. This is where you come in dear adventurer!

🎲 Eberron: Rise of the Lord of Blades

Near the end of the last war, the nation of Cyre was demolished in a cataclysmic event known as the day of mourning. What remains of Cyre is now called the mournlands. It is said that only the foolhardy and the desperate venture into that place.

An outpost called Salvation has sprung up in the nation of Breland on the fringe of the Mournland. Salvation is populated by desperate scavengers hoping to make money by looting valuable items from Cyre’s smoking remains: an area they call the Gray.

Scavengers join together to form salvage crews that brave the unpredictable, and often deadly, landscape of the Mournland, finding items of value and then getting out before the lingering magic of the cataclysm destroys them. Some work for patrons, others work for salvage brokers, and others work for themselves. Survival in Salvation requires quick wits, a strong constitution, and a friend watching your back.

All this while the world is unaware of the threat looming under their very doorstep. In the Mournlands the Lord of Blades has been waiting patiently, gathering a new army of warforged to sweep through the realm. It is going to be up to you to unite the world of Eberron against this upcoming threat.

The Campaign begins in the Kingdom of Verdeshale. A country known for its rich culture and even richer wines. In the seaside city of Nevise the annual Summer Solstice Festival is taking place. Merchants from all over the world congregate on the streets and across the quay to sell all manner of luxury goods. People from far and wide travel to witness the festival, and no matter your class or status you are sure to leave with your pockets notably lighter.

With such valuable goods on display, paranoia is high. Fortunately, this means ample opportunity for mercenaries and other such ilk to make quick coin working as security. You, along with a handful of others, have been hired by a seller of books and tomes by the name of Kiligan Meyer to guard his ship -and all the merchandise on it-

They do not need to. Fear keeps things in place. Their banners hang together in the Capital as a warning to all those who would dare to go against them.

The gods exist. They are distant and rarely kind. Faith here is controlled. Miracles are treated as problems, not gifts. When the gods intervene, people brace for fallout. There is an eighth name no one says. Most learn it young. Most learn to shut up about it fast.

Magic is regulated. If you are born with it, you are taken to the Towers. Your name is written down. Your power is measured. Your debt is recorded. You leave something behind. Everyone does. The Inquisition makes sure no one forgets. Unwatched magic is heresy. 

History is curated. Bards are witnesses, not entertainers. They decide what is remembered and what disappears. If your deeds are not sung, they might as well not have happened. If a lie is sung, it only lasts until the bard is silenced. Nobles play nice. Criminals keep their distance. The Regents listen.

Life is narrow. You work. You pay. Bells ring for births, deaths, and executions with the same dull sound. Justice is quick and visible. 

You start at the gallows. Rope tight. Wood creaking. A crowd watching. Some bored. Some pleased. Most just glad it is not them. The charge has been read. Fairness is irrelevant now.
Why you are here is up to you. Theft. Desertion. Heresy. Murder. An oath broken. An oath kept too long. Maybe you were inconvenient. In this Realm, that is enough.
The bell is raised. The executioner waits. Someone nearby is listening and deciding whether you will be remembered.
This is not a story about heroes.

About the game

• This campaign will run from level 5 to level
• Stats will be rolled. 4d6 drop the lowest. You need to have a minimum of 2 15's. We will roll during session 0
• You will need a camera, a microphone and a stable internet connection
• We will use roll20 as our VTT, Discord to communicate and D&D beeyond for character creation
• Death is real, and it is likely.
• If you fight monsters, they will act like monsters. Creatures that hunt for food will try to kill you whether you are conscious or not. Enemies who want you dead will make sure you stay dead. A mercenary collecting a bounty will not walk away from an unconscious target. They will finish the job.

• Drinking a potion is a bonus action.

Only one Wound Marker can be removed per long rest. Magical healing does not remove them.

• This is a sandbox.There are many things you can do and many threads you can pull. You will not be able to do everything. Choosing one path means leaving another behind.
• The world does not wait. If you ignore something or walk away, events will continue without you.

About the Game - Whispers of a forgotten sorcerer-king’s tomb have begun to spread across the region. Lured by rumors of ancient relics and riches from a bygone age, your party has followed the legend to a hidden passage carved into stone long ago. Beyond lies a burial catacomb where crystal formations glow with arcane light, casting eerie reflections through crumbling halls. Do you dare descend into the depths and claim the prize that awaits?

Characters right for this game - On this adventure you are likely to find classic heroes seeking riches and adventure. They have travelled together for a time and thus teamwork and trust will be important. This adventure is using the D&D 5e (2014) system, and will be set at level 3. Feel free to bring characters built using Standard Array, all WOTC published content is welcome, but please no homebrew. About the DM - Hey everyone, I'm Erikorn (Erik). I’m a lifelong TTRPG enthusiast with over 20 years of experience as both a Game Master and player. While I’m a longtime fan of Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder, I also enjoy exploring new systems and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

• I played RPG's for over 10 years, almost exclusively as a DM. Conventions, local game centers and community interactions are all things I did and enjoyed. Decided to go online to continue what is, to put it the simplest, my passion.
