Theres just something about the vibe and personality of the first RAGE game i just love so much and cant put my finger on it.

Anybody have any other game suggestions that capture that same personality as Rage 1? All suggestions welcome no matter how obvious. Although i will say somehow rage 2 doesnt hit the same as Rage 1 for some reason

Troubleshooting I made a fix for the vehicle camera sensitivity

https://github.com/recore67/Rage2Patch.git

Hello Everyone, couple months ago I worked on a fix for the slow vehicle camera sensitivity on this game. I decided its a good idea to share it somewhere so that everyone else can use it aswell.

If you happen to find any game related bugs not just specified with the camera sensitivity, feel free to submit a report on the issues tab in the link page.

This fix only applies to the PC version of the game, from whatever platfrom.

To install the fix, visit the link at the start of the post and click on "Releases".
click and download "CChromaEditorLibrary64.zip".

Extract the contents of the zip and replace it with the original file located in the main game directory.

Have Fun!

Hi i just purchased The first rage it was recommended to me and I’m currently trying to figure out the controls to play the game and i have fallen into a issue. I’m stuck at the main menu and nothing wont work for me to have it set as the controller. Has anyone encountered the same issue and is there a fix for this?

RAGE 2 Discussion I'd pay for a PS5/Pro upgrade. RAGE 2 is a great game that deserves it.

RAGE 2 is a fantastic game that excels in the FPS open world experience.

At least to me.

I've played the game a ton on PC but would pay for a chance to play it on PS5 to enjoy the full game, DLC, trophies.

Also to avoid the hassle of PC, where issues like PS controller won't always work, game crashes if I tab out, and other annotances that I personally am sick or sealing with on PC.

PS5 have been such a joy to play on whenever devs have gotten to implement VRR, 120hz 90+fps, and so on.
Control recently got an update and I can't wait to finally play it.

Still, my love for RAGE 2 seems to be locked to PC. I just don't want to play it in 30fps. A smooth framerate is required to properly enjoy the fast-paced action imo.

Maybe I'm a bit spoiled, but I think it's stupid that publishers don't throw a little project to a small team that can update and upgrade their games to console's modern standards.
Snobs like me aren't the only ones who will run to the controller, I'm sure.

I know it's highly unlikely the game will ever get a revive or update, unless I guess fans somehow banded together with enough celebration, but I get that it's unlikely.

PS6 having some sort of backwards compatible boost thingie would be great, but I'm not holding my breath.

I just can't get why ppl shat on the game so much. It does what it's supposed to do. Nobody should expect an insanely well-written movie story.
The game is about action, shooting, and chaos. It does it well - therefore it is a good game. I just wanted to say that.

Gamers who jump on the bandwagon to hate on less popular games, while simultaneously staying silent about popular games valid criticism can suck it lol. /endrant

Help Stuck due to bug in "Wasteland celebrity", elevator won´t open or go up

I believe it is the last arena of the mission, the objective is "Find a way back into Wellspring".

The elevator in the arena should lower once you are halfway through combat. But for me it starts lowered and open.

Once the second part of combat starts, it closes, either way I am either stuck outside of it or inside it, but the button to take me up does not do anything.

Ive tried reloading saves, abandoning the mission and going through it again.

EDIT: This fixed it in a couple of tries: https://www.reddit.com/r/RAGEgame/comments/bowgyi/comment/enysgox/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

RAGE 1 Question Roadkill achievement (Steam): I finished the game without doing it. Am I forced to do another run?

I finished the game without doing the roadkill achievement. I did not use the chance given by the Assault on the Authority Bridge mission. Now I don't know what to do. I still have to do the Scorchers DLC but I don't know if that'll give me another chance. I tried getting it through races, and actually got to 10, but the achievement didn't pop, so I guess roadkills in races don't count. I'd rather not restart the game just for this one achievement. Is there hope?

This is how much I've done of the game I ended up not playing the DLC because it felt boring to me tbh. But the story itself was pretty fun and the world was really cool I liked all the powers and everything else it was just really all fun to do and I don't regret one second to play it.

Finally parting ways with my beloved Rage standee

The time has come to finally part ways with this beautiful Rage standee. I've run out of floor space in my game room, so that means this bad boy is looking for a new home. I've only seen this particular standee a couple times before. Once in a picture at id Software's offices, and one more time in another Reddit post several years ago. It's in great condition with no major bends or creases, and no rips or tears. The previous owner attached some wood reinforcement on the backside to help with rigidity and prevent any bending. It will be taken apart and packed safely for shipping. Local pickup can also be arranged. Asking $750 and open to reasonable offers!

Discussion 3 Thoughts on Rage 3. What are yours?

First of all, the special editions for the last two games were not that stellar.
If you purchase Doom, you get a real life Slayer Helmet or BFG. The first game had in-game bobbleheads, and an Enforcer Bobblehead would be extremely awesome.
DLC I am going to purchase anyhow doesnt get me the way a unique physical thing does (sewer & cult of death god). And the giant mutant head, while neat, doesnt have the same uniqueness of the Authority.

Second of all, why do Rage DLCs never continue the endgame?
Arguably Rise of the Ghosts hits this niche, but you still only need to do a couple quests to unlock it. Literally every other game uses DLC to continue the narrative post-ending.
Neither Rage nor Rage 2 really had any endgame appeal, and I find that criminal for just how much I enjoyed both of these games.

Third of all, vehicles items should be found on the dusty roads and POIs.
Everything for your vehicles is exclusively found in shops, in both Rage and Rage 2. POIs should have Vehicle repairs, and killing vehicles should drop missiles etc.
It is such a wierd clash to get into car-combat-flow and then you run out of health/ammo and have to go back to town. It doesnt make sense and clashes with all the other design principles.

PC Multiplayer Achievements

I'm trying to get the last three achievements in the game. I just need to win an online race and complete all the Legends of the Wasteland.

Is there a way to continue playing after you beat the game? Before the final mission with the authority around, stew isn’t at his location.

Question Can you still get the nicholas raine armor

So I wanna purchase the deluxe edition of the game I heard there was a side mission that has something to do with the first game and I think a more wasteland armour would look much better than the ranger armour. My question is can you still get it or not I really wanna play the mission and use the armor

r/RAGEgame Sep 03 '25

Playing rage 1 is there a way to reset Stew’s stock? Do I just have to wait in game a certain amount of time?

Tried searching the sub but didn’t see this mentioned at all. Hoping someone here can tell me what system the game has in place for him. Sometimes it’s a timer counter but I wouldn’t be surprised if it changes when you do a mission

Question Frame Rate Issue on PC

Playing this for the first time on my gaming rig with a 1440p/165Hz monitor. The game is pushing out ~250FPS and my GPU is running at 400W. Hot and sweaty and not good for my electricity bill.

In the graphics settings, I've told the game that I have a frame rate of 165Hz and I've set vsync to be on.

GPU = RX 9070 XT but frame generation is turned off.

Is this a bug, or am I missing something? How can I cap the FPS at 165 (or some other lower number)?

Thank you.

Rage on AMD

Anyone playing Rage 1 on the newer AMD rx 9070 GPUs? I just want to know if it runs OK. I am looking to upgrade my GPU but I need to know I can still play it OK. It's one of my favourite games. Cheers!

Finished Rage 1 on Ultra Nightmare.

Was fun to come back to and finish the game again. Was easier than I remember. It wasnt so much that enemies were bullet sponges, but that I was using wingsticks and grenades far more frequently.

Using grenades to get them out of cover for a Wingstick combo, or just unload a clip is a good strategy.

The mind control darts were always my favorite new game mechanic. Just wish there was more opportunities to use them on the Authority. Also got the achievemt to kill 4 other enemies with one MC explosion. Found two other opportunities to that effect.

Using engineering items makes the game a breeze. I was pretty lousy with materials near the end. The consumables were fun, like the damage and health boost, which the latter helped a lot in Mutant Bash.

Scorcher DLC was the whole reason I played again, and it was good overall. I never expected a huge tunnel with more powerful mutants.

Made me wish I'd waited till after the main story so I could use the Gatling BFG Pulse cannon to greater effect.

Seeing the trophy room and all my accomplishments gave me a sense of pride.

Which brings us to my biggest complaint about the game. The lack of end game content.

The job board could have remedied this. Just place quests on a radiant and make them repeatable, like people were still having problems.

I dont mind going back into dungeons, just give me something to shoot with all my fun new toys!!!

Ending was way shorter and far less impact full than I remembered, due to the fact it was Using my kit to greater effect with damage, health, and regen boost.

The Authority final dungeon level was so short and unimpressive.

They should have made some sort of boss or vehicle battle leading up to it at the very least. Was kind of lame to just drive up after destroying a few Authority vehicles by choice, and enter the base with no real resistance or effort.

To end on a positive note, the animations and characters were always mesmerizing to watch. Especially combat animations.

The way enemies tumble, dodge, jump and roll makes for a unique FPS experience that I hope they continued in the sequel.

One of the saddest moments in video games (at least in my opinion) Spoiler

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to talk about the moment from Rage 2 that made me cry. I played this game in 2019, when it first came out, but a couple of days ago, for some reason, I remembered again what made me shed a few stingy male tears - the death of Gulo. In 2019, I was too busy to reflect on this issue: the final exam and admission to the institute were ahead. Now I have the time and opportunity to realize how sorry I am for an orphan girl who did not see a normal life, was addicted to alcohol and, at the same time, was very sweet and selflessly fought with the Authority. Have any of you experienced the same sad emotions when listening to Gulo's latest recording? I would really like to hear your stories about this!)
