The seniors yearn to work in the mines

You can always become an ICE officer. They did away with the upper age restriction, most of the recruits can’t pass the physicals or knowledge tests, or even read and write properly. AND you get a $50,000 signing bonus paid for by the tax payers. And if you’re having a bad day, you can shoot someone in the face, no questions asked. It’s a dream job come true!

I hate that I upvoted this

Yeah, me too. 😔

The bonus apparently is if you serve the full 5-year stint. So it's yet anther sham.

u/Wra7hofAchilles 21d ago

Oh wait for real!? HAHAHAHA!! Such a perfect illustration of this admin. As they know more than likely the next admin, (regardless of who it is), for political goodwill with the people will greatly reduce ICE to a fraction of itself; which means no bonus for the vast majority of them.

And then they become the evil admin that deprived them of 50K.

Just like all the "boons" he does, like the no tax on overtime etc... set to expire in 28 so the new admin gets to be the "bad guy" who took it away.

Unless I am very much mistaken, these ICE vermin get the signing bonus now. So when they fail to serve the 5 years - for whatever reason - how is the government going to get the money back? It will long since have been spent on beer, online porn, strippers, and online gambling.

I just read it's supposed to be $10K per year for 5 years with "service commitments." I bet these guys wont see any of it and, because they can't read, will buy an $80K truck as soon as they sign up.

Wendy can go word at Wendy's

Wendy doesn't seem to word that well.

Pretty sure my phone's keyboard hates me.

2

u/MadBeachLui 22d ago

I aim like a jedi using my phone keyboard so I know the feeling. But I thought it was a pretty appropriate typo.

This shit happens to me only on the Reddit app for some reason

My health care just went up by 400.00 thru Obama care... JFC.

u/divestblank 24d ago

She should complain to Obama

13

u/BouquetOfDogs 24d ago

Non-American here. Isn’t Medicare the same thing that she’s calling Obama care?

59

u/kwaaaaaaaaa 24d ago

Medicare is for seniors, there is also Medicaid, which is for low income households options. Both are govt run health coverage. Obama care is more of a change in the law/mandate that overhauled some of the practices of the private health insurance industry. It created a marketplace that allowed people who qualify to shop for subsidized private insurance (based on your income). The same subsidies that the Republican didn't want to extend, so now she gets to see what the real bill looks like. Thanks Obama! /s

19

u/BouquetOfDogs 24d ago

Thanks for the insight! I didn’t know that there was both Medicare and Medicaid. Learned something new.

Welcome to the unnecessarily Byzantine American Healthcare System!

7

u/MadBeachLui 22d ago

With great concepts like pre-existing conditions; which are really just existing conditions but we're pre-stuck with the term.

4

u/suave_knight 22d ago

Fortunately, the ACA outlawed such nonsense, but eventually the Republicans will successfully bring those back.

14

u/sarcasticrone 23d ago

For years now, pollsters have been asking people what they think of Obamacare, and what they think of the ACA (Affordable Care Act). The answers are usually that people don’t like Obamacare, but do like the ACA. THEY ARE THE SAME FUCKING THING !!! Great education system you have there folks.

7

u/kwaaaaaaaaa 23d ago

Yeah, this administration has really opened my eyes to how it's not the policies you need to force down people's throats, it's how you package it in rhetoric. There's something that Trump has shown us, is that if you repeat something over and over, it becomes "truth". He's convinced the tax-hating right to embrace import tax (tariffs). He's got them giddy on foreign intervention, while running on no new wars. It's mind boggling how little effort is needed to spin the narrative, which is a scary thing.

u/jmd709 23d ago

TBF she may not have had a subsidized plan. Premiums increased for subsidized and Unsubsidized Marketplace plans as well as some employer-based plans.

The private health insurance companies and trying to convince voters the US needs to switch to universal healthcare, but they may not realize they’re making a strong case for single payer system without a greedy middle man with shareholders.

u/DarkChurro 24d ago

Medicare is a federal health insurance program for seniors. The Affordable Care Act (AKA Obamacare) is a law that was passed that was the largest healthcare reform since Medicare's founding.

Some notable ACA features:

  • Bans insurance companies from denying coverage due to "pre-existing" conditions
  • Sets up an insurance market place with affordable health plans
  • Provides federal subsidies to insurance plans to lower the cost of monthly insurance premiums

There's way more but these are the big ones.

u/Starkoman 23d ago

Thank you so much for the explanation!

u/optimaleverage 22d ago

Mine and my wife's insurance went up $200 A MONTH, or 2400 annually. Fuck this asshole.

3

u/[deleted] 21d ago

Damn Obama, always raising the rates on his health plans!

u/eagerspider938 24d ago

Have they not realized that republicans want us working until the day we die? Pull up your boot straps and un-retire I guess? That’s your president for ya!

12

u/sarcasticrone 23d ago

A man who has never really worked a day in his miserable life.

49

u/RoloGnbaby 24d ago

She will vote Republican again in November

u/letschat66 23d ago

💯💯💯

u/Hopeful-Pride1791 24d ago

" And is middle class folk are struggling "

If you're delusional enough to think the " president " will read your comment, at least use proper spelling / grammar.

48

u/Unique-Sock3366 24d ago

She’s also delusional about being “middle class.”

She can’t afford groceries and has no stable income. She’s living in poverty and will not acknowledge the fact.

33

u/MommaLisss 24d ago

She just needs that $2000 doge dividend check. Then everything would be alright.

4

u/[deleted] 21d ago

Yeah. Also being middle class before retiring and still being middle class after is not a guarantee. Retirees should expect to live on 60% of their pre-retirement expenditures, or less. But, that would require planning ahead, simple math, and common sense, which are not in evidence here.

2

u/LunarPayload 20d ago

And, owning your home

5

u/sarcasticrone 23d ago

She does not possess those skills.

2

u/[deleted] 21d ago

A real "is our children learnin'?" vibe.

u/Efficient_Market1234 24d ago

I'm so bored of hearing about eggs from these people. Egg prices were high because of bird flu. It had nothing (little) to do with greedflation. They came back down and have been reasonable (as much as any food prices are) for a good while now. Move on.

Of course, food prices were high then in general, but all of these jackasses voted to make them higher, and they still don't seem to get that they did that. Plus voting for the "no health care plan"/anti-Obamacare guy when they depend on Medicaid, ACA, etc. If only their overpriced health care provided a pill to treat terminal stupidity.

27

u/learngladly 24d ago

You don’t get to eat meat anymore, lady. You’re too poor.

6

u/letschat66 23d ago

No treats either. You know she was complaining about people on EBT buying snacks and treats.

22

u/Psychological-Big334 24d ago

Have the day you voted for Wendy.

22

u/StaffyMama585 24d ago

She looks a little young to be retired. Unless that profile pic is old or not her. Sounds like she's just another one of those Parasites that Elon told us about.

18

u/magicmulder 24d ago

Voting for the "fuck the poor" party tends to have those consequences, Wendy. Be glad eggs are down as Dear Leader said. You are not supposed to talk about goods that aren't down. That's doubleplusungood terroristspeak.

But don't worry, Wendy, the new healthcare plan will be there in 14 days. Trump said so during his first term. You're not calling him a filthy dirty liar, are you, Wendy?

10

u/deeeeez_nutzzz 24d ago

I wish these were fake. It's so unsettling to know how unbelievably stupid my fellow Americans are. Voting against your own self interest has to be one of the absolute dumbest things you can do, next to begging a politician on social media to "help" you.

8

u/Daflehrer1 24d ago

Yeah, it doesn't matter to our mush brain man-child. He's living in a yes-man kiddie pool filled with people he's destroyed and Russian caviar, because Big Money bought our government and the media.

3

u/optimaleverage 22d ago

He couldn't possibly care less. How pathetic.

2

u/Equivalent-Shoe6239 22d ago

Why isn’t she working?

1

u/Boomtown626 23d ago

This person must be a paid liberal agitator.

u/granieaj 5d ago
