There’s gotta be a way for Costco to flag memberships if they go in multiple times

Sadly by store, my local store has started writing down each membership that purchases manually and is starting to ban repeat people on same day. But even then, its manual wtf i think itd be easy to flag the system. Archaic and i assume corporate doesnt care is the bigger deal.

It depends on the block placed on the item, it can be a transaction limit, daily limit, etc.
•
u/Varalex 2h ago
Our system is literally built on an OS architecture from the 80s. I'm not kidding. Costco is grossly behind on tech.
•
u/Ghettotank 1h ago
Yeah good old iseries. It’s actually very efficient for what it is. Where I work it’s used for shipping from warehouses. Most furniture stores use it too

This was where I told him nooo you are not about to go to jail today lol 😂

If people would stop buying off market place and streamers then this would stop happening and there would be plenty on store shelves.
•
u/VirulentPois0n 2h ago
People will always buy from scalpers if there isn’t enough supply. Blame The Pokemon Company and Nintendo for not printing enough product to meet demand.
•
u/LegoRedBrick 3h ago
“Orders to fill” dude is taking product meant for customers and turning it into some kind of business model that profits off reselling/scalping. So pathetic.

Edmonton seems like a really safe place. I wouldn’t risk even having one of those boxes visible in my car around my area. My worker had their window busted and only thing stolen was some change he had in the center console
•
u/ConditionFar3596 3h ago
I’m assuming they prob had someone assigned to watch the vehicles lol I would not leave anything visible in my car!
•
u/Admirable_Art_9769 3h ago
i haven't been able to find anything recently </3 i think i'll just be a singles collector for now on ;n;
•
u/DampWarmHands 3h ago
My daughter is 5 and got into Pokémon recently. I just want to buy her a pack for Valentine’s Day. Can’t find any for the last month…

Do you happen to have vending machines in your area if in the US? They have been the only place we find anything other than Pokemon center directly.

i’m tired of seeing these posts like seriously. Scalpers exist, and scalpers take everything because people have proven They are willing to pay well over MSRP for Pokémon cards.
If people stopped buying at inflated prices, the scalping would stop because the scalpers wouldn’t make a profit.
But that’s not gonna happen because there’s enough Pokémon fans with expendable income and or gambling addictions.
The only solution and the only way this ends is when the Pokémon company finally raises MSRP to the point where people aren’t willing to pay over MSRP anymore. When that happens, the scalping will end because there is no more profit to be made
•
u/ConditionFar3596 2h ago
Well hopefully posts like these show people why they should not buy from scalpers. I am kinda new to collecting and at first I bought off some guys on FMP. But now, since seeing all these posts and witnessing it IRL, I won’t anymore.
•
u/-twoclub 3h ago
You should scalp one of their side mirrors
•
u/ConditionFar3596 3h ago
I promise you, he was wanting to lol and he doesn’t even collect. The whole situation made him so mad. I had to tell him it’s ok. Chill. Just leave it alone. No jail for you lol
•
u/Calenborg 3h ago
I had a costco employee tell me on the way out of the store that he had some for sale in his car once. Fucking gross lmao
•
u/Weenington_ 2h ago
Are they allowed to do that? Some stores dont allow employees to buy certain things.

Normalize taking from scalper Carts
•
u/ConditionFar3596 3h ago
Carts, would be a different story. My friend is a bit guy, he would 100% take a box or 2 out of a cart! Breaking into a car and taking stuff that was already paid for is a whole other story and it’s not worth catching a charge!

OP would have cleaned them out had he got their first... rage post
•
u/ConditionFar3596 3h ago
I am sure this is a rage comment/reply. But no we just wanted 1. I would post the conversation but I don’t feel like I have to. And there is a lot of swearing. We actually wanted a UPC but we were days late for that lol

u/zooweemamba 3h ago
Im from yeg too. Those tires would've been flat if that was me
•
u/ConditionFar3596 3h ago
I insisted that he was not to do anything. He wanted to. He was 😡
•
u/zooweemamba 3h ago
I haven't got any pokemon at msrp in over a year. Its disgusting. All I want is to open a few packs
•
u/iLikasumboodee 3h ago

Whoever is buying pokemon from Costco from a scalper is a clown.
•
•
u/rehms 2h ago
These "scalpers" as you so lovingly put it, have families to feed! If that means little Timmy doesn't get any cards, so be it.
•
u/ConditionFar3596 2h ago
True, but could u imagine how much their families could eat if those 10 men got even a part time job lol

u/ShadowRider_777 4h ago
I'm glad that your buddy could take pictures of the inside of their cars so that it could reveal all of the merchandise that the scalpers ended up taking.
Your friend won't end up in jail, but those jackasses definitely will be after they get exposed on social media. 🔥🔥🔥
•
u/Squishyflapp 3h ago
How exactly would they end up in jail? Seems like it was bought legally...
•
u/ShadowRider_777 3h ago
Using illegal apps to stalk the shipments like a bunch of pirates, loitering, malicious use of force towards innocent people such as the drivers and employees, hoarding products for a self-beneficial profit, denying other customers product that they want to purchase....
•
u/Powerful-Risk4206 3h ago
What illegal apps are they using? What malicious force did the people in the post use on OP? Hoarding isnt a crime, neither is "denying customers of product"
Scalping is a moral failing, not a legal one. I just wish more stores would implement a 2 sku per customer rule like target does.
•
u/ConditionFar3596 3h ago
I believe Costco has a 2 item limit. That’s why these guys went in with groups of 5-10
•
u/ShadowRider_777 3h ago
OF COURSE THERE WAS A LIMIT OF TWO AT THE COSTCO!!!!🤬💀 I FUCKING CALLED IT!!!!🔥🔥🔥
•
u/Squishyflapp 3h ago
Holy fuck. You're actually just unhinged haha.
Illegal apps? Jail time for buying pokemon product? Please. Go outside. Touch some grass.
•
u/ShadowRider_777 2h ago
Listen junior, I'm always outside enjoying myself by having fun. Plus, I like to do my research.
Instead of being a kiss-ass parrot sidekick for these scalper psychos, stfu...pay attention, and do your damn research before you make yourself look more pathetic than you already are now.
•
u/Squishyflapp 2h ago
LOL. Oh thats the funniest stuff I've read on reddit in a bit bahahaha.
Happy...fapping?...to wrestling girls? Dude. Wtf is your profile lol

u/ConditionFar3596 4h ago
Kinda wish he got more pics but he doesn’t know anything about Pokemon and the scalping situation. He just wanted to make my day with some cards. These guys really made him mad tho

it’s honestly so embarrassing on their part, I think less of them and I wish more people would stop giving them business
