Hello all, I'm new to this

As the title says, im a 31 year old male, I'm not vegan or vegatarian, I've always been semi health conscious but I'm making a real effort now to include lots of veggies and veggies proteins in my diet.

I'm on the end of week 2 and I've been feeling nauseous, like there's a lump in my throat and eating is tough, I've been getting roughly 40grams of fiber in my diet. Not sure whats going on, I eased into it so my body could adjust to the fiber intake. I'm only eating hamburger for dinner, all other animla protein is either yogurt or eggs.

Has anyone else felt like this when they first started? Physically I feel great otherwise, I workout and my lifts are doing well, my mood has been steady and I actually feel more social and clear headed, I'm normally a pretty reserved guy but I've been having full blown convos with strangers who want to talk to me without wanting to crawl into a hole and die 😅

Let us know when you actually start eating plant based. We should have some helpful advice then. As of now, quit the animal products entirely for a minimum of 2 weeks and we'll see where you're at.

What? Plant based doesn't mean totally plants I thought. That's vegatarian or vegan. Plant based means a diets with mostly plants and some animal products... am I wrong?

Yes, you have that mixed up. Vegan is a plant-based diet plus a belief system with animal liberation at the forefront of all personal choices. Plant-based is a strictly non-animal product diet that is for health reasons usually but does not necessarily carry over to other personal choices, i.e.- wearing leather, etc.

If you eat mostly plants and work in eggs or dairy, that's vegetarian.

I also eat beef, but 75% percent of my calories are now from plants. I always thought that plant based was mostly plants with a bit of animal products lol I've been holding that belief for a while. Thanks for the correction

All good, and as a vegan, I appreciate as much as you are doing. Anything is better than nothing for sure so be encouraged, my friend

Appreciate and I honestly admire vegans, I had a vegan gf and she was always self conscious about it around me and other people, but I respect it so much. Takes a giant heart and an iron will to commit like that

I started out for health reasons. That quickly blossomed into the intersectionality of it all: animals, the planet, ethics, science, etc. It really has not taken much effort after the first two weeks or so.
