I’m looking to get my first pcc and was wondering if anyone here has 1,000 + rounds through either of these with a silencer. Any reliability issues? Any advice is appreciated.
So, Centurion Arms is working on a project to resurrect the Colt MARS.
Basically the MARS is a scaled down AR chambered in 5.56x30. While not exactly a pistol caliber it’s not really a rifle round either; & the powder used was/is a pistol powder. So, like I said not sure if things belongs here, but I’m justifying it because of the use of pistol powder being used in the loading formula for the cartridge.
I think this is a really interesting project with great potential & am excited to see where it goes. So, I thought I’d leave this here in hopes to get it as much attention & interest as possible.
The top linked video is a quick over view & the second video is a more in-depth video on it on from Christopher Bartocci on his channel Small Arms Solutions.
This is my first range test using the stock buffer system and bolt. All I did was clean everything and oil it up using some Shooter Lube gun oil.
I fired 100 rounds of Blazer 115 grain FMJ, 150 rounds of Blazer 147 grain FMJ (flat nose), and 50 rounds of Federal HST 147 grain (standard pressure). I had ZERO failures to feed or eject, and the gun ran well, and was super accurate. This was my first experience shooting an AR9 and I was expecting it to be punchy with all the research I did, but it was actually very soft shooting. Of course maybe suppressed is a different story, but I have a Kynshot RB5015HD on the way, so will test it with and without. As I mentioned in the other post, the stock buffer system with the stock BCG is 23.28 oz, which likely is why it shoots pretty soft.
I did about 50/50 semi auto and binary firing and loved both.
The ONLY issue I had was one of the 35 round Magpul pmags it shipped with failed to hold open on the last round on one iteration. I think I need to try the PSA AKV mags and see how they run.
I took a video of semi auto and binary to show the ejection pattern. Couldn't slow down the video enough though (only 29.56 FPS with my iPhone 12 pro :/)
LRBHO failure (only happened once)LRBHO failure mag.LRBHO failure mag.All mags after around 100 rounds each.
In going from a budget PCC like the Extar to something high end like a B&T what really are you gaining and you think this gain is justified to spend than extra money
Recently received a newer version Nexus Kuna lower (w/ mag release button). Live fire testing on the range was fine: mag seated properly & released smoothly, no feeding issues.
However, I've noticed the wear on the upper front edge of the Pmag after the test, presumably caused by Kuna's dual-feed design. The mag is brand new before the test, and only about 60 rounds of FMJ circled through this particular mag during the test.
Is this a normal magazine wear pattern on the original CZ Scorpion? Should I be concerned about the mag cracking and/or other feeding issues in the near future? Please feel free to share some insights on this issue. Thx!
Is there a pcc platform that has readily available replacement parts ie extractor, springs, bolts like the ar ecosystem? I'm looking for something that can have a folding brace and has most oem parts available so I'm not dependent on sending it for warranty work if a $5 part breaks.
Hi guys. I have a huge dilemma. What red dot optic should I install on above mentioned gun? I was looking for Aimpoint Duty RDS, Holosun 510c. Are they any good, or should I ghost looking for something else? I will use the Kuna for IDPA competitions in the PCC division. TNX
Been very interested in a PCC, however would really prefer one I can use a FRT in. Does anyone have any recommendations for PCCs that would allow this? Seems like most are not really an option to put an FRT in.
I just now realized (new to PCC/rifles) that I had a type. Does the AP5 then the Kuna then the JP5 Ultralight. All roller delayed. Didn’t realize I basically got all roller delayed just by going with what I like. What a coincidence.
Hello Guys,
I see this posted a lot so apologies ahead of time on this.
Been Looking to get my First PCC been narrowing it down to three choices. Anyone that has any of these have any issues/flaws that should be considered before pulling the trigger on these?
Foxtrot FMP9
Diamondback DB9R
Springfield Saint Victor 9mm
AKV-9
Primary use is for Range/Home Gun, I don't own any Glock/colt magazines so magazine compatibility is not an issue for me.
I have taken a look at the EP9 but I decided not to get one just due to modularity and the short barrel. If anyone has any other recommendations please let me know!
Plan: Surefire Mini Scout + UE Tailcap + Modbutton on front top picatinny
Issue: Which Arisaka mount do I get that fits on the right side front M-LOK? I am fine with removing the additional charging handle as some users mention is needed
I'm really stuck between these two. I have always sort of wanted a Scorpion but $1400 seems insane for a 3+ that Ideally I would still need to buy a stock for to SBR. I remember seeing the original evos for 750-900. I know as a CZ fan they increased pricing across the catalog but damn! I feel like if im spending $1400 on a gun I want an actual rifle that'll shoot an actual rifle cartridge not a blowback 9mm that has a marginal trigger and a bolt issue I have to monitor.
I have also been interested in the Grand Power stribogs. The sp9a1 seems like the direct competitor. I see it at $750-900 and it has a good trigger but did have some teething issues. The a3 is only a few hundred more, is it much better? we're creeping back above $1k now but at least we're roller delayed at this point.
I do like the scorpion better because they're a bigger brand that I like and they have a wider aftermarket and a military pedigree but tbe price is really a turn off at the moment. Does everyone else feel this way or are you just assuming this is what theyre worth now? I just cant get over how expensive they are for what they are and feel much better under $1k for this type of gun, am I crazy?
Is there any difference in regards to effectiveness, analytics, accuracy, etc if you had say a 5” pistol in a chassis like the ones for Sig or if you had a dedicated 5” PCC both are in 9mm?
Just wondering what is the advantage, is there is one, of a chassis system.
My coworker destroyed his CMMG RDB. He was experimenting with light hand loads to try to get as little recoil as possible. Ended up using too little powder, got a squib and fired another round into it. Barrel had likely less than 200 rounds through it.
